The north wanted the south's money but they wanted to secede and not share. Like I said, long story shortened.

OMG!  I have no other words to say.  Unbelievable.  Your history teacher would be ashamed.

Nope. TryThese for starters:

The Civil War Almanac- 1983 World Almanac Publications, John S. Bowman - Executive Editor, Technical Consultants: Naval- Anthony Preston, Weapons Ian Hogg

Or you might prefer these two, as they contain a wealth of pictures along with historical facts:

The Photographic History of the Civil War - The Opening Battles Two Years of Grim War- Henry W. Elson and James Barnes- Contributors: William H. Taft - POTUS, George Haven Putnam Major U.S.V., Marcus J. Wright-Brigadier General C.S.A, Eben Swift-Lieutenant-Colonel U.S.A., French E. Chadwick- Rear Admiral U.S.N., Henry W. Elson - Professor of History, Ohio University.

The Civil War - Bruce Catton -

The point being I have studied the Civil War, in depth, throughout my life. From grammar school through college and into my adult life. I have done a wealth of research on the subject, including actually visiting a very large number of graveyards and battlegrounds in the east and southern portions of this nation. Along the way I have accumulated these and many more texts on the subject. And I own firearms from the period as well.

I have pictures of and know the grave sights of most, if not all of my descendants that participated within this conflict, and have read their personal correspondence back to their loved ones while entrenched within the battles they participated in. Places like the Wilderness and the bloody angle, Bull Run, and Manassas.

And if you've never seen it I highly recommend the Civil War documentary series by Ken Burns.

Do some research and prove to me my posting is wrong. (It isn't).

For all the caterwauling you do about the changing of history one would think you'd know this one. . . But one would be wrong apparently.

POSTSCRIPT: These books and a lot more are readily available at most Civil War Battleground locations throughout the theatre of operations. These particular three I myself purchased in Gettysburg when I was there.

The Ken Burns Documentary is available on NetFlix : https://www.netflix.com/title/70202577 or for purchase at Amazon. (They may even have the books too).

If you choose to watch the series on Netflix please start with episode 1 as it directly relates to what I have said herein on the subject. And I just went ahead and purchased the documentary series in the 25th anniversary edition on blu ray myself. It should be here Tuesday.

She seriously claims she isn't a racist.
Arguing with Christians is like playing chess with a pigeon.  No matter how good I am at chess, the pigeon is just going to knock over the pieces, shit on the board and strut around like it's victorious.

The truth is slow, but relentless. Over time it becomes irresistible.

No, I am not and I'm also not a Nazi in spite of what you are being programed to think about anyone who is of a different opinion than the left.

You just support the agendas of both. 🙄

Exactly...page after page of her defending people who were waving nazi flags on U.S. soil followed by racist revisionist history about the civil war and why it was fought.  Absolutely a racist.

The civil war did not start over slavery but ended up that way. The flag is a battle flag period. The left wants to make everything they disagree with either racist or something evil to try to stir up discontent and seems to be working with ya'll.

Did you even attend school past the 5th grade?

This is literally as easy as simply googling, "what caused the civil war."  Is there any subject about which you are not ignorant?

Google is not the answer to everything since you can find things to support either side. Take a little time and to to the library.

And yet again, you choose to remain willfully ignorant.  I'm thinking I'll take the opinion of educated historians over than of a barely literate racist any day.

So you're saying the library is not the place to go but that people should rely entirely on Google now?
