Well, like it or not, that happens every day in courtrooms all across this country.  For better; for worse.

I'm not sure I would change the way it works.  Would you?

I was on HB a very short time.  But it had more stupid crack pots on it than the zone.  I also had some debate with the person who ran it and he   :dizzy2: was just a fool too.  :trustme:

OMG!   Locutus never even implied the guy should have gotten off.   He was answering your question.   Don't you remember what you said?

She was doing her job.  A job that she didn't want.  Anyone in her position would have done the same thing.

Can't buy it AbbyTC.  She could have said he was so drunk he didn't know what he was doing, he had a history of alcoholism..she didn't need to attack the child.

I'm not saying that at all.  All I'm saying is that's how our system of justice was designed.  I like to feel that most of the time, it works as intended.  All public defenders and defense lawyers are legally required to act on the behalf of their clients to the best of their abilities.  There are serious ramifications if they don't.

Does the system always work as we all would like?  Obviously not.

Many people were upset that George Zimmerman was acquitted of killing Treyvon Martin, that Casey Anthony was acquitted of killing her baby girl, and that OJ Simpson was acquitted of killing his wife and Ronald Goldman.

Despite the above, I think the system works as intended most of the time.

I'm just addressing your portrayal of her in this case.  She wasn't a monster defense attorney who was attempting to get this rapist off at all costs.  She was a public defender, who was assigned the case against her wishes by a judge, who was doing what she was legally required to do on the defendants behalf.  Nothing more; nothing less.

Again, she was only doing what she was legally required to do.  As others noted, she didn't want the case to begin with.

You're welcome for the link.

No, she attacked the child. She could have defended her client with saying he was an alcoholic, etc. But to say the 12 year old girl was ASKING for it because all 12 year olds do, is not really defending him...it's attacking her. Andhow ANY woman could see this and think clinton did not violate her own words of "I have always helped children and women" is beyond me.  She was NOT true to that then..and with her actions as first lady, Senator and Secretary of State, she was not true to them at those times, either.

There is nothing that will change you mind about hating her and you will find her guilty of everything.  :finger2:  I find you stupid and  a fool and there is nothing anyone can do about that.

        SO! :kissit: :hellur:

I know her history obviously better than most.  I have researched what she did and didn't do as Secretary of STate when NO one heard any news from her.  I have seen her flip flop lots of times.  I don't agree with her policies.  I don't trust the content of her character.  Please do refrain from making this into a "You hate her" as if she has been perfect and even a DEMOCRAT for her public life. She has not.

Yeah, I would first of all not allow children to be painted as "asking for it" when it comes to rape.  That puts children in OUR society on a sex trafficking approval level.  I would make the defense of a rapist a defense of the rapist and not allow an attack on a child.  You?

That is how the system works, a public defender and a prosecutor are going to paint a victim and a suspect. not sure why you don't get that. It happens every day in the court system.
It's the job of that attorney to do so and where did sex trafficking of children  come into this.

East Harlem is a long way from the rural and poor South.  So. . .
Maybe so but it's the same. If these people, no matter what race, are getting government assistance they have to have ID's so what's the problem with having to show them? Why do the libs always mention the blacks since there are poor white people too?

Nothing I read in those court documents indicates that she used any words, "the 12 year old girl was ASKING for it because all 12 year olds do," or anything along those lines.
