Ain't the truth a bitch?

. . .5. Indiana: When Barack Obama won Indiana's electoral votes in 2008, it was an anomaly: Indiana, which went Republican in every presidential election from 1968-2004, is one of the most conservative states in the Midwest and is much more Republican than Minnesota, Wisconsin, Illinois or Michigan. Pundits have often said that when it comes to politics, Indiana is "more southern than the South." But the disdain that Indiana Republicans often express for "big government" rings false because according to Wallet Hub, Indiana receives $2.01 from the federal government for every federal tax dollar it contributes and receives 33% of its funding from Uncle Sam. Indiana Republicans can hate coastal Democrats all they want, but without the federal tax revenue Democratic areas generate, Indiana would have a hard time functioning.. . .

And with this states overwhelming stupidity, it calls minimum wage jobs "good jobs"! That $2.01 will soon be $4.01 . . .

Okay, let's look at the truth....

Here are the top ten states that have received the most federal funding since 2000, their estimated populations in 2011 (according to the U.S. Census Bureau), the amount of federal spending per capita in 2011 (the population estimate divided by total federal spending in FY2011), and their electoral map color (based on the last four election cycles):

10)  OHIO: $828.2B - PURPLE
09)  NEW JERSEY: $888.6B - BLUE STATE
08)  ILLINOIS: $888.7B - BLUE STATE
07)  LOUISIANA: $994.5B - PINK STATE
06)  VIRGINIA: $1.054T - PINK STATE
05)  PENNSYLVANIA: $1.105T - BLUE STATE
04)  NEW YORK: $1.714T - BLUE STATE
03)  TEXAS: $2.387T - RED STATE
02)  CALIFORNIA: $2.928T - BLUE STATE
01)  FLORIDA: $3.853T - PURPLE STATE

It clearly seems that it is the DEMOCRAT voting states that grab a hold of the fed $$ more than the REPUBLICAN voting states....

Way to take it out of context.  The analysis I provided compared the amount of money the state contributes to the federal government to the amount they receive from it.  Your article does nothing of the sort...some of the states listed may, in fact pay in twice what they get back, ergo, your little neocon spin is meaningless...even though fools like you will never get why.

I should start a new thread stating "Harry Reid Sucks" because he really, really does....

Just a few weeks ago, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid called the billionaire brothers Charles and David Koch "un-American," attacking them for the political ads being run against Democrats by Americans For Prosperity, a group funded by them.

as it turns out, Senate Majority PAC, run by allies of Senate Majority Leader Reid, is the top-spending superPAC in the midterm election season.

They have now spent $33 million putting them at the top of the list according to Federal Election Commission data.

This was being reported on MSNBC by the Morning Joe crew....

This is just another case of his hypocrisy...along with many democrats, who SUCK!

This perfectly illustrates (on both sides of the aisle) that we no longer have a democracy.  We have an auction.

How much has Americans for Prosperity spent?

An auction that Henry supports.  He has stood behind every decision that reinforces the ability of the wealthy to buy our legislative process.

You support First Amendment rights extended to corporations, and that's exactly what Ex is talking about when he said that about you.

Guys, I understand your argument, I KNOW what you are talking about, I just think the SCOTUS is STILL correct with the ruling of the right to engage in free speech, including political speech and the right to freely associate, no matter it being a person or a group and how much money that person or group has.

That is a basic founding principal that our Constitution is built on.  If our Congress can determine who can or cannot utilize this freedom, then we have a bigger problem at stake, in my opinion.

No rational person could come to the conclusion that your interpretation of the First Amendment is what was intended by the Founding Fathers.  When one person has the means to amplify his voice to the extent that it drowns out those of 99 others, he has effectively denied them their freedom to speak.
