Does anybody else on this board have any experience with working with the government?

I do. And you would be shocked at just how backward and archaic many government IT departments are. No backups. No email archiving. Systems that are woefully short on power and storage. So short on storage that old data is routinely wiped just to keep systems functioning.

I see it every single day.

I dealt extensively with the FDA a few years ago and found them to be exactly as you say.

As to my tempest in a teapot comment (or in this case, tempest in a Tea Party), I was referring to the entire brouhaha of the targeting to begin with and not specifically the emails.  ;D

I do know what you're saying though but you'll never convince 'me' or any others of the validity of your statements despite the fact that they're true.

You got to admit, at the least, it looks very suspicious....

The whole thing isn't very suspicious if you ask me.  Remember how all of this shit started?

1.  Obama becomes president and almost immediately, the tea party related groups applying for non-profit status with the IRS skyrocket.

2.  Non-profits are prohibited from engaging in political activities by IRS regulations.

3.  Now, who would have ever thought that tea party related groups might be engaging in political activities given the very names of their organizations?  Certainly not me.  </sarcasm>

4.  These groups draw extra scrutiny (deservedly so) from the IRS because of the reasons cited above.

5.  The IRS says that conservative groups weren't the only ones applying for non-profit status to receive the extra scrutiny.

Occam's razor.  Enough said?

Its easy to say that on this forum.  90% of the people think like you do.

Many polls are showing a strong drop in the POTUS polls in his approval ratings...there is a reason for that.

Well, that makes sense as to why Obama is a two-time POTUS then.....

For some reason ACORN comes to mind here..... Weren't they tax exempt and didn't they also participate in political activities?
