What I posted was apparently parody from your reaction.  But that's why I said "you've got to be kidding."  I guess the thin line between parody and lying depends on who does the posting and of what.  How many times has things from the onion been posted here, on the forum, like it were true?

It's not parody.  The statue exists in Charlotte, but the headline is a lie and you still haven't told me why.  Had Ex and Olias been around, they would have had a field day with this one. 

The statue is there, and it has to do with the economy.  Now tell me why.   I'm still waiting.

One thing I did see that I hope won't happen is that they are expecting problems from the "Occupy" people.  I hope not 'cause from everything I've seen those people don't mess around.  They are mostly a bunch of out of control people living off mom and dad or welfare that just want to cause trouble and they don't care who for.   Michael Moore went to stand with them at one time and they jumped in his face.  Guess he forgot he was included in the 1% they hate.

Well duh, I didn't read it the same as you....sand, shovel, nothing to do with Obama or his shovel ready projects, pun, joke, not a lie if that's what you're referring to.  If it is you're just way to picky and showing that every word a conservative says is ripe for liberal interpretation to be changed at their whim to fit what they want to make it fit if it favors them.  If it's true then it's true.  To not post it because of the headline making a pun is ridiculous.  I cannot change what the headline say's.

Wow!!  The Myrtle Beach Convention and Visitors Bureau did that!  Imagine that!

It wasn't the evil DNC making Obama out to be something that he wasn't; it wasn't the evil hypocritical Democrats raiding the environmentally sensitive areas for sand to further their own agendas; it was a convention and visitors bureau trying to get convention attendees to spend a few extra days at the relatively nearby beach to improve the local economy. 

From your link, which is quite different than the nefarious purposes you suggested in your original post, it states:

"Photos of a massive sand sculpture of President Obama in Charlotte, North Carolina ahead of the Democrat National Convention are circulating throughout the Internet, prompting a number of "shovel-ready" jokes from Republicans.

According to an excerpt from the AP, the Mount Rushmore-like sculpture was created by VisitMyrtleBeach.com Saturday, Sept. 1, and took five artists three days to complete.

WPDE elaborates, saying the Myrtle Beach Chamber of Commerce thought it would boost tourism to the city after the convention, hence the "Visit Myrtle Beach" and "Vote Myrtle Beach" slogans.

It was to boost tourism (hence the economy of Myrtle Beach); it was paid for by the Myrtle Beach Chamber of Commerce and not the DNC as your article lied about; Obama had no hand in it even being there and, unless internet lies rise to such a level, he probably doesn't even know it's there.  It wasn't a joke, and you didn't think it was a joke when you first posted it.  Therefore, it's a lie.
