I was referring to the grape thing and it being too cold to grow them for a period of time.  It did happen.  The rest of it has been discussed and different opinions have been posted about it.

Yep it happened, just like Indiana was under a glacier at one time.  It was to cold to grow tomatoes and grapes here too.

Complete hyperbole.

As has been explained to you several hundred times on this forum, global cooling was never a position overwhelmingly accepted by the majority of the world's climatologists.

It is a plane fact that humans are burning carbon base fuels at a rate that the earth natural forces can't contain it and the carbon dioxide is staying in the air and causing a green house effect.  This has also been proven.  Just the facts and scientific fact.

What she didn't admit was that her exact quote was ...

And they used to grow grapes in England but can't now because the climate is too cold so where's the global warming there?

Notice the "can't now" which obviously refers to the present tense.

Why is it this got turned from one thing to those damn grapes?  I KNOW, I must have made a valid point ya'll couldn't defend on whatever the original subject was about so we had to divert to the grapes.

No ... you posted an OPINION which was not backed by EVIDENCE, yet you continue to claim that OPINION is valid.

And he's telling you that the way you think makes others aware that you can't tell your ass from third (or any other) base.

But you're so dense you don't even know when your evidence has been pwned, and when you have totally contradicted yourself.

It wouldn't be so bad, but you hang on so pathetically to some shred of pride when you ought to just say you were wrong.

That is what gets you the negative comments and the "attitude" attacks you whine about.

You bring it on yourself.

:2cents:  For years and years the English could not grow tomatoes outside, because the ground didn't warm up enough.  They were grown in green houses.  Later on they found they could grow them in raised beds covering them at night in the  cool spring.  Tomatoes need warm feet, roots to produce the fruit.

Sheesh how many times do I say I had misunderstood and that it happened hundreds of years ago to satisfy ya'll....IT DID HAPPEN THOUGH!!!!!!!  That makes it a fact...there was a mini ice age and man had no control over it and nothing could have been done to stop it.  Now that being said...We were told that the recent sun spots could affect our weather patterns and guess what...they just may have done that.  Of course your "empirical evidence" didn't account for that did it?

Did we or did we not just have sun spot activity?  Were we or were we not told there may be some strange weather patterns cause by it?  Are we having some unusually warm weather?  Think they may have just been right for a change?

For you and the Troll this argument is moot, we won't be here when it happens.  But if anyone who has any logic can figure with the advance of all of the burning of carbon based fuels and the production of carbon dioxide and with sun spots can melt all of the ice at the pole and raised the level of the seas 200 feet.  I think you are wrong in every way and so are your Republican friends.     It will sure be a downer for the whole world.   :titanic:

Maybe you "misunderstood."

"A new study in the journal Science by a team of international of researchers led by the National Center for Atmospheric Research have found that the sunspot cycle has a big effect on the earth's weather."

"For those wondering how the study bears on global warming, Gerald Meehl, lead author on the study, says that it doesn't – at least not directly....

Global warming is a long-term trend, Dr. Meehl says in a phone conversation. By contrast, this study attempts to explain the processes behind a periodic occurrence.

And here's a view of people like you and the GOP's rhetoric about "socialism" in Europe...none of you know dick about Europe and you clearly don't understand the meaning of the word socialism: http://www.cbsnews.com/video/watch/?id=7403158n&tag=contentMain;contentBody
Arguing with Christians is like playing chess with a pigeon.  No matter how good I am at chess, the pigeon is just going to knock over the pieces, shit on the board and strut around like it's victorious.

The truth is slow, but relentless. Over time it becomes irresistible.
