Stocks in U.S. ended higher despite a devastating earthquake in Japan, which also triggered a massive Tsunami. The quake was the fifth biggest in history.

The Dow Jones ended the day 0.50% higher at 12,044.40, the S&P 500 ended the day 0.71% higher at 1,304.28, and the Nasdaq ended the day 0.54% higher at 2,715.61.

I heard Pat Bauer on the radio this morning complaining that Speaker Bosma's 'threat' to draft a law that makes it possible to do recalls and to make it illegal to cut and run. Bauer sounded like a whiny, spoiled child that was throwing a tantrum because he didn't get his way. Then he went on to say that the 'threat' was just a smoke screen to draw attention away from the real issues. Doesn't this guy realize that his party's antics ARE part of the real issues??

One good thing though. They did raise the fines to $350 a day. 

Not nearly enough in my opinion but it's better than nothing.

14 trillion debt!!!....a person who was born at the same time Christ was born, could spend a million dollars a day passing his money on to his kids, and their kids kids, and so on...... every day up until TODAY, and they would still be $296 BILLION dollars short of spending a TRILLION!!!
