why don't we just do our jobs?

. . .

we must defend our borders, and install some practical laws for entering the country and becoming a citizen....that is really not too much to ask, . . .

The feds would if states like AZ would stop cluttering up the works with their unconstitutional initiatives. . .and republicans would stop practicing obstructionist politics. . .

The laws are already in place. . . how much more of your paycheck are you willing to give to the feds to pay for the headcount necessary to enforce them above and beyond what is being done now?

If the laws that were already in place had been being enforced Az wouldn't have had to do what they did which was simply start enforcing them.  Why is it some people seem to be siding with the people who are doing wrong or breaking laws lately rather than siding with the people who are the victims?

Circular logic that seeks to avoid the obvious question: How much more of your paycheck are you willing to divert toward the additional headcount that will be required to enforce the laws already on the books at a level above that which is taking place today?

...but giving immigrants an amnesty is a GREAT way for liberals to gain some cheap votes....and THAT is the motive behind all of this....

Huh? Illegal immigrants don't vote.

Well, ya see, me, the people who are doing wrong are the employers who cart these people in by the bus-load and give them classes in how to use the ER and food stamps -- and how to fill out W-4's so no taxes are withheld. I don't know why Congress continues to side with these pirates, imposing wrist slaps and fines which are less than the normal cost of doing business. The laws that are already in place are toothless. We need some nasty new laws to punish the corporate officers and board of directors of these companies. And while we're passing new legislation, legalizing drugs would go a long way toward de-fanging the cartels.

Legalize weed and watch the economy turn around and the deficit disappear!

They aren't the ones carting in the drug cartels. And yes, if given amnesty the illegals will be citizens who will then be able to vote.

Now don't go blaming the hispanics for America's weed habit! There are plenty of "Americans" growing it themselves right here in the states. Why just today the FEDS and ISP announced the eradication of $47.5 million dollars worth of plants growing in the Hoosier National Forest. . . And last week two Evansville women were busted at the Mexican border trying to smuggle in a bunch of it.

If those here under illegal status are granted amnesty, they will be required to become citizens. Once they do, they should be able to vote! What's wrong with that?

Illegal aliens can't vote, but they are a nice cheap source of labor for the Republican Business owners.  Like the large meat cutting companies that poison us and the large egg companies that poison us.

We do need a super strong border protection against the criminals.  Shoot them and put them away.

what do you mean Illegal aliens can't vote?  where have you been?

Beyond requiring applicants to sign a pledge on voter-registration forms affirming that they are U.S. citizens, there is no way to prevent the nation's estimated 8 million to 12 million illegal aliens from casting ballots in November, area elections officials said.Locally, only Virginia requires voters to provide their Social Security numbers, but the state does not require voters to show their Social Security cards."There is no way of checking"

Uh, you'd better back up on that one PH.  There were a bunch of dems here in the city who were convicted of voter fraud a few years back. If that is the case they don't hold the honors all by themselves.

I use to be a precinct committeeman and I know how Republicans like to challenge everyone, to keep someone they think is a Democrat from voting.  Show me any case where they caught a illegal aliens voting.
