Yep. Those guys are so nuts that they will literally kill each other over championship games.

didn't one of the big soccer stars get killed by the mafia a few years ago, because he lost a big game for them?....

Sorry, Hank. Don't know anything about that.

Was referring to rioting fans who get so carried away (read: drunk) that they get into savage brawls with fans of opposing teams.

Here we go:  :icon_evil:

Quote
. . .
New Orleans defensive coordinator Gregg Williams, speaking earlier in the week on a Tennessee sports talk radio show, said the Saints will need to deliver some "remember me" shots on Manning and added, "you hope he doesn't get back up and play again" at Sun Life Stadium on Feb. 7th. . .

. . ."You kill the head and the body will die," Williams said. "That's usually how it goes, you hit the quarterback and the whole team feels it.

"This guy's got a great clock in his head. The big thing is that he throws the ball so early that we're going to have to do a good job of finding ways to get to him and when we do get to him we're going to have to make sure he gets a couple 'remember me' shots when we get there.". .

Like I said earlier, they're hunting quarterbacks!

I think the Saints' defensive coordinator is a douche and this is poor sportsmanship.  What he is effectively saying is that his team isn't good enough to beat the Colts fairly so he's willing to play dirty and accept the penalties for doing so hoping that he can injure the opposing team's quarterback.

Yup, and I expected nothing less. After watching the way they man-handled Favre, I knew what to expect from them when it came to the Super Bowl and Peyton Manning.

Here's the results of a New Orleans poll asking which Colts player beside Manning will be the biggest threat to the Saints:

Reggie Wayne, receiver 16% (376 votes)
Joseph Addai, running back 11% (256 votes)
Dallas Clark, tight end 30% (732 votes)
Pierre Garcon, receiver 18% (435 votes)
Austin Collie, receiver 5% (127 votes)
Dwight Freeney, defensive end 15% (368 votes)
Clint Session, linebacker 1% (20 votes)
Gary Brackett, linebacker 1% (32 votes)
Antoine Bethea, safety 1% (21 votes)
Other, tell us below 2% (55 votes)
Total Votes: 2,422

Looks like they're afraid of Dallas Clark, as well they should be. He finally made the pro bowl for his ability to make the big plays, catches, and not the least of his talents, his blocking. The guy is a great all around threat and if they leave an opening he and Manning will team up to burn their asses.

They have several polls posted. You can see them here:

Wow. At least one Saints fan agrees surrounding Williams yapping:

Quote
the saints have a loud-mouthed defensive coach doing alot of gum flapping about hurting peyton manning. what an idiot.
i would think that would put drew brees in jeopardy at the hands of dwight freeney and robert mathis.
these guys are animals who are as relentless as a terminator and they will stalk brees all day until they get him.
they love the taste of thier own blood but they love a quarterbacks blood even more. they will hit, hurt and pound his carcass into the miami turf.brees will cry and beg but it wont matter, these guys dont have feelings or show remorse on the football field.
brees will know first hand what suffering and misery are all about, the colts will open up an entire 55 gallon drum of whoopass.
when they get thier hands on brees it wont be a hit, it will be a felony.

I wish he had the ability to pick a better paint color for his house...it is butt ugly.

Maybe he'll change it after the super bowl, if they win. He probably can afford it then!

I hope he sticks around awhile. I bought his jersey. Last time I did that they traded the person I chose! (Stokley)

I think he is an outstanding player myself. . . (Voted for him in the pro bowl countless times)

Trying to decide if I want to watch the Pro Bowl this evening.  I'll probably go to a sports bar to watch it if I even watch it at all.  The Pro Bowl has never really excited me.

Actually, I could go and see it live and in person.  It's only about 7 miles as the crow flies to the stadium where both the Pro Bowl and Super Bowl will be played here in Miami.  Tickets to the Pro Bowl are relatively cheap and there are some still available.  Nose bleed of course.

I may tune it in if I think of it. Funny it isn't televised except for ESPN. You'd think if the NFL actually wanted to do something to increase fan interest they'd put it on network programming. . .

I really think that by scheduling it so close to the Super bowl they've tripped themselves up. Especially considering that the #1 seeds in both conferences are in the event this year, meaning high profile players that are with those teams will not even be participating.

I rarely, if ever, watch it anyway since it is after the season ends typically.  I don't see it much different now. They should take a hint from MLB and move it to mid season, giving the "bye" week to each team the week it is held. . .

Of course, there are other advantages to having the Super and Pro Bowls here in South Florida.

Yeah, I bet there's plenty of eye candy about. . .

I admit I got kind of jealous seeing so many people in shorts and short sleeves this time of year. . .

Heck, if I tried that here right now I'd get frostbite, or suffer hypothermia in short order.

Personally I have to admire Ray Lewis and his enthusiasm for the game. There he was playing alongside men he played against all season long, and still he chatted them up, getting in their tails when he needed to and whooping it up when someone made a play. He helped everybody have a good time from what I saw and heard.

And the AFC comes out with a win too.
