Dolphins scratched out a win today at Buffalo.  The way the Bills were playing, they should have won by more, but the offense appeared to still think it was the preseason.

Colts played better in the pre-season than they did today, with the same result - got their butts handed to them and they were manhandled. Houston lived in the Colts backfield and Manning never really had a decent set of downs because of it. Combined with butterfingers being the name of the game for the receivers, and an offensive line that couldn't remember the plays or snap counts, the Colts spent more time going backwards than they did toward the goal line.

A truly shabby showing to say the least. So much for the perfect season! Got that out of the way in game one!

MNF double header tonight.  I'm going to see if the Jets can back up all of the trash they've been talking and then watch another one of my favorite teams (the Chargers) in the second game.  :yes:

An awful lot of last years contenders came out of the gates rusty and looking inept! And they got their asses handed to them.

I really think that these pre-season games are not being utilized correctly. While I understand the need to evaluate those candidates that are new to the teams, the need to shake off the rust is being ignored in the vet players to the point where they are really nasty in a lot of cases!

It was never any clearer when I observed most of the players sucking air in the first quarter of every single game I watched. These guys were/are not ready for NFL football! I expect it will be week 4 or 5 before things get back to where they were at the end of the season last year. And those teams (like the Colts) who rested their players in the last 2 or 3 games last year, those players have not seen a real game in 8 or 9 months! Are we really doing them any favors in sitting them and then ignoring them during the pre-season????

Houston punked the Redskins big time in OT. Called a time out at the instant the kicker was going for the game winning field goal, which he made but it didn't count. He missed the next try. Then the Texans went back down field and kicked a FG of their own to win it!
