he was just ..... passionate....with his belief....(okay, maybe a tad certifiable) ;)

Passionate??  Ok Henry, you're giving him more credit than I do.

That is a doctored photo.  Check snopes.

Oh ... I see. You LIKE Snopes when it agrees with your notions. Did you use Snopes to see if grapes can be grown in England before you passed on that little tidbit?

Besides, I see a tad bit of uncertainty in their verdict ...

" If it weren't a manipulated image, it could have come about because an aide handed the book to President Bush for a quick schoolroom photo opportunity, the President didn't immediately notice it was upside-down because he was looking at the student to his right, and a photographer managed to snap a picture before the error was corrected.

It might also be possible (but hard to determine from this image) that the books President Bush and the student were holding had removable dust jacket-type covers, but the cover of the President's copy had been put on backwards, so it looked as if he were holding the book upside-down even though he really wasn't."

It might also be possible that he's a dumbass.

Re: Guidelines for SMCSC – Viewing Recorded Broadcast
President Barack Obama's Historic Speech to America's Students
September 8, 2009
Noon, ET
Broadcast live at C-SPAN
Streaming live at website: http://www.whitehouse.gov/live/

Date: September 4, 2009

President Obama will deliver a national address to America's students to challenge them to persist and succeed in school by working hard, setting educational goals, and taking responsibility for their learning.

See press release: http://www.ed.gov/admins/lead/academic/bts.html

Schools and the Administrative Services Center have received phone calls from concerned parents who have raised objections to the following: 1) the use of school time for viewing the President's speech; 2) the potential for political issues ("indoctrination") to which they do not want their children exposed to become part of the speech; 3) the potential for classroom activities and discussion relating to the President's speech to include political views to which they do not want their children exposed.

The SMCSC Board of School Trustees has established the following guidelines for the District:
1. The live feed will not be used in any school to broadcast to students.
2. Teachers and administrators who have an interest in showing the speech as a download must view the broadcast and determine if it is relevant for the curriculum, per Classroom Use of Videos policy, IIA. It will be available as a downloadable video: http://www.whitehouse.gov/mediaresources/ as well as on www.ed.gov. C-SPAN.org will provide archived and "on-demand" viewing options.
3. Any teacher who wishes to use the downloadable version of the speech in the classroom should notify the building principal in advance. [See Classroom Use of Videos policy, IIA. Note: Permission Form is not required for this viewing.]
4. Parents who wish to have their children excused from the viewing should notify the teacher or the school principal or designee. Failure of the student to attend school for the sole purpose of not being present the day of viewing of the President's national address to students is unexcused and consequences will apply.
5. Students excused from viewing should have a place to go where they will be supervised. If assignments result from viewing the President's speech, students excused from viewing the speech will receive an appropriate, relevant, and comparable activity that addresses the same curriculum objectives as the speech.

Suggested classroom activities and the specifics of the Video Project contest for students age thirteen and older are posted at the following website:

This, my friends, is how the loud-mouthed bigoted minority controls what your children have access to in school.

or it is what responsible people do when they have concerns with issues that they do not agree with...

according to the left, if you disagree with this president you are a bigoted loud mouth...

that is plain and simple NOT the case ..... the hard working, tax paying, family men, women, mom and dads, have decided to speak up....and it has been resolved in a reasonable fashion.

That the leader of the free world can't speak to our children is offensive to the core and anyone who thinks this is reasonable is an idiot who should be shot for treason.  Today, I am ashamed to call myself an American.
