BTW, I'll still await anyone who can refute the point I made on the first 13 posts or so on this thread.  If you do, I'll go to church.  ;D

JUST my* OPINION----NOT AN ANSWER----NOR-----INTENT TO ENTICE YOU TO GOD OR CHURCH> EITHER GOD FINDS YOU OR YOU FIND GOD!

THAT IS BETWEEN YOU AND YOUR IDEOLOGY TOWARD THE GOD BELIEF!

IN SOME BELIEFS: THE DEATH OF CHILD INFANT IS A PURIFIED SOUL THAT HAS BEEN CLEANSED AND PURE!

A CHILD THAT DIES AT BIRTH IS A PURIFIED SOUL! IT HAS NOT SINNED!

WHEN GOD CALLS GODS OWN! ONLY GOD KNOWS THE CAUSE OR REASON!

NO ONE LIVES FOREVER!

MANKIND THINKS AND BELIEVES AS MANKIND IS TAUGHT. MANKIND DOES NOT HAVE THOSE ANSWERS!

BUT i* BELIEVE IN THE ONE(1)GOD AND HAVE LEARNED NOT TO QUESTION THOSE THINGS I AM NOT MEANT TO KNOW!

i* HAVE LEARNED TO LEAVE IT ALL IN THE HANDS OF GOD!

WHY ATTEMPT TO FATHOM THE UNFATHOMABLE?

Favorite communion memory:

My grandparents 60th anniversary. The family had to sit in the front pews. The preacher said, "Take, eat." He put the wafer in his mouth and promptly choked. I mean gagging, snorting, tears and snot running down his face choked! I lost it. Turning to my mother, I said, "I always had trouble swallowing that fantasy, too." Then she lost it. We fell off the pew laughing, and rolled on the floor. The deacons asked us to leave.

I am sure your grandparents enjoyed it too.

That's the end of my diatribe.  Now if anyone at all can explain to me how this is even remotely rational thinking, I'll be in church on Sunday.  ;D

^----- That's my point.

Yes they did. These apples didn't fall far from the tree.

If these folks would redirect their praying to something more constructive, I might be able to win the lottery!
Arguing with Christians is like playing chess with a pigeon.  No matter how good I am at chess, the pigeon is just going to knock over the pieces, shit on the board and strut around like it's victorious.

The truth is slow, but relentless. Over time it becomes irresistible.

How do you figure? Have you seen any positive results to their efforts?

True...guess I'll have to rely on "God's will."

My opinion doesn't involve going to church.  But I'm sure you wouldn't buy my belief any more than you do the one that they talk about there.
Looks like I've come full circle.

Dying is a very dull, dreary affair. And my advice to you is to have nothing whatever to do with it

quote of some real famous guy somewhere.

BTW: Sometimes people profess their faith loudly, for whatever reason.  I agree that the person who posted those blog statements showed a degree of insanity.  The thing is, faith is not loud, insane statements  or turning of facts to suit the end.  It is a firm, unyeilding belief that you must love as much as you are capable of, that you give yourself to your community, to your freinds and to your church, and you live up to a high standard of behavior.  It is listening to a voice that guides you in daily living, one that gives you peace of mind, and joy in life for your days.  It really isnt something that you can argue about, or justify to anyone else.  But I can tell you, that many times, people i barely know have said to me, "I dont know what you have, but I need some of it".  My faith is quiet, strong, and appropriate.  I know God leads me, he fills my life, he blesses me every day.  I wish for you, with all my heart, a blessing that will fill your heart with joy, and give you a peace that will give you a smile that bursts from your soul and shines on everyone around you.  And just because you dont believe it, doesnt mean I cant request it for you.
Red meat is not bad for you, fuzzy green meat is bad for you.

Do you all also think meditation sucks?

Funny, I have most of these same qualities but there is no god leading me...the voice I hear is my inner self.
