That which fails to kill me. . .should run!

Besse Cooper - World's Oldest Person - DEAD!  116 years of age.

You go Besse!!  The world is a better place because you were in it.

Before women gained the right to vote in 1920, Besse Cooper joined the suffrage movement.

Then 24, the Georgia school teacher registered women to vote and spoke to others about the importance of having a voice in politics.

Cooper voted in every election after the 19th Amendment was passed, save for two.

She died Tuesday, at age 116, only one of eight people recognized by the Guinness World Records to have lived that long.

I know!!  If her mind was still good, (that is before she died  ;)  ) it would have been awsome to talk to her about her life.

Damn! One of the all time greats.  :'(

Yup!  I was first turned on to him by WGN's use of 'Take Five' as their late night theme WAY back in the early 70's.  I learned to play it from there.  My first applicable introduction to odd meter time signatures.  I was so enamoured of it I started writing pieces in odd meters like 7/4 and others.  It's a real shame jazz and classical music isn't popular with the masses any more.

Law of Logical Argument - Anything is possible if you don't know what you are talking about.  ;)

"You've probably noticed that opinion pollsters go out of their way to include as many morons as possible in surveys ... I think it's dangerous to inform morons about what their fellow morons are thinking. It only reinforces their opinions. And the one thing worse than a moron with an opinion is lots of them." -- Scott Adams

In other words: Never underestimate the power of stupid people in large groups.  ;)

"It is difficult to get a man to understand something when his salary depends upon his not understanding it." -- Upton Sinclair

"Hitler is gone, but if the majority of our fellow citizens are more susceptible to the slogans of fear and race hatred than to those of peaceful accommodation and mutual respect among human beings, our political liberties remain at the mercy of any eloquent and unscrupulous demagogue." -- S. I. Hayakawa
