Now you can be sheriff!
Arguing with Christians is like playing chess with a pigeon.  No matter how good I am at chess, the pigeon is just going to knock over the pieces, shit on the board and strut around like it's victorious.

The truth is slow, but relentless. Over time it becomes irresistible.

Goodbye, Andy.  :(

"Actor Andy Griffith, who played folksy Sheriff Andy Taylor in the fictional town of Mayberry, died Tuesday at the age of 86, his family said.

Griffith died at about 7 a.m. at his home on Roanoke Island, according to Dare County, North Carolina, Sheriff J.D. "Doug" Doughtie.

He passed away after an unspecified illness and "has been laid to rest on his beloved Roanoake Island," the family said in a statement."

Already laid to rest??

That was certainly unexpectedly fast.  His body is barely cold and they already have buried him.

Who would know, he should have been, while he was living, worth several millions of dollars.  :sneaky:

The body of Andy Griffith, a North Carolina native and actor who for years won over audiences with his folksy appeal, was buried Tuesday morning less than five hours after he died.

He passed away at around 7 a.m. ET at his home on Roanoke Island, authorities reported.

At the request of his family, Griffith's body was lowered into a grave on the island at about 11:30 a.m. ET, according to a funeral spokesperson who declined to be named, citing the sensitivity of the matter.

"It had been planned for some time," said the spokesperson, who declined to reveal where on the island the body was buried.

"This was the wish of his family."

^^ That's a bit bizarre, but whatever.

4 1/2 hours from death to burial.  He was still warm in the grave.

Kirk Douglas is 95 years old (turns 96 in December), was an officer in the Navy, and was injured during the war and got a discharge.

He was born in 1896, so I am guessing he was too old. . . He also only had a 4th grade education.
