And so back to the royal death subject. . .

In my life I have had the bittersweet experience of being around immediate family within a short timeframe before their deaths. Along the way I became cognizant of the subtle changes that take place when one nears their expiration dating. Among those changes I have noticed is in the eyes.

When one is nearing expiration the eyes are the tell for me. You look into their eyes and it is almost as if I can actually see there spirit preparing to leave. The eyes become "black" and the "aura" of them almost resembles a black hole in space.

I see it in the eyes of the Queen, although I will admit it appears to be in the beginning stages. While she may appear to be full of life and vibrant at first glance, if you look into her eyes you can see what I am talking about. Compare an early picture of her to one taken just this week and you will probably be able to see it for yourself.

I saw it in the eyes of my own mother, grandmother, grandfather, and a couple of aunts. And I see it in the Queen.

To me it is even more apparent in this recorded message:

Yeah, and my grandmother lived to 95, but mom only made her mid 70's. . .  :-\

Queen Elizabeth's uncle gave up the throne because he could not marry Wallis Simpson because she was divorced. Maybe the rules are different from when Henry was King.  :) Did he divorce his wives? I thought he had his marriages annulled or just beheaded them for treason.

He gave up the throne because it would have caused the government to resign and an ensuing constitutional crisis had he married her.  I'm not sure that had his parents approved of the marriage, that he wouldn't have been able to go ahead and marry her and retain the throne.  From an article I read:

Royals who are divorced or marry divorcees do not lose their position in the line of succession. Edward VIII had a number of affairs with married women including Wallis Simpson who was already divorced and still married to her second husband. His parents King George V and Queen Mary did not approve and refused to meet her. When George V died Prime Minister Baldwin made it clear that the Government, popular opinion in the country and the oversees (sic) Dominions (now the Commonwealth nations) did not approve of his plans to marry Wallis. Social attitudes towards divorce and a women looking for a third marriage were considered scandalous at the time, and if Edward married against the advice of his Ministers it would have caused the Government to resign and a constitutional crisis. Edward chose to abdicate.

The 1772 Royal Marriages Act requires members of the Royal Family to obtain permission from the Sovereign to marry. Queen Elizabeth II gave her permission for Prince Charles to marry Camilla, and more recently for Prince William to marry Catherine Middleton.

Looks like Charles is in the clear because his mum gave permission for the marriage to Camilla.  Also gave permission to William to marry Catherine.  Personally speaking, if I needed the queen's permission to marry Kate Middleton and she didn't give it, I would even abdicate the throne to marry her.   She's smokin' hot!  ;D

I know what you mean Horse.  Just before my dad died, he was in quite a lot of pain.  I demanded that they put him to sleep and stop the pain for him.  I looked into his eyes and just like you said, you could see the life spirit going,  Just dark holes in space, nothing was there.  They the hospital staff gave him a pain shot and he closed his cold dead eyes, it was heart breaking but he was free of pain.  He later die that evening while my sister was there.  Bye dad sleep tight all is well.

I'm very sorry you had to experience it Troll, but I know exactly how you feel.

I believe some call it the "firelight" in their eyes, but no matter what one calls it, I have come to realize not everyone has the skill to utilize their ability to see it. But once you recognize it there is no mistaking it, that is for sure.

I never saw it in my own father's eyes though. I was with him just a short while before he dropped from a massive heart attack. He was dead before he hit the floor. (And I am thankful the he was spared a lingering illness that sucks the life out of you).

I began to see it in my mother after her 3rd stroke, and it was much like the look I see in the Queens eyes now. Mom lasted about a year and a half after I first saw it, but when I last visited her just about a week before her death it was there full blown. I took one look at her and instantly knew her time was very near.

The doctors said she was going to make a full recovery but I knew better, and told my siblings in private away from mother. They got pissed at me, but within a few days of leaving her I got the call.

I saw it in my grandfather's eyes in November and he was dead by New Years day. I saw it in my grandmother's eyes and she died within a month. . .

IMHO it is there in the Queen's eyes, and although it is not full blown, the light is fading noticeably.

So, are we starting a DEAD! List?

Anyway, my prediction is she lays down for the long dirt nap as soon as 7 months from now, and within 18 months longest.

(I can also see Charles refusing the throne in deference to William, who has the public's heart thanks to the hottie he married, as well as who his mother was).

So let it be written.  Prophesied by the Palehorse, TUZ, Dead Thread, p.93, June 6th, 2012 10:35:55 PM.

I guess we'll wait and see what happens.

Yeah. . . that will be long buried by the time it either comes to pass or is exceeded.  Especially given the level of activity this topic sees. Hell who knows, maybe I'll beat her to the other side!  :spooked: (Walks to the mirror to look into his own horse eyes to see if his firelight is fading)

My father had been very ill, and my mother said "I knew he was going to die because the light went out in his eyes."

I've seen it once, but it was my sweet cat Charlie. He looked up at me, meowed, and the light went out of his beautiful blue eyes.

Exactly Libby. And absolutely it can be seen within every living thing. I have seen it in the eyes of pets myself, and it is just as gut wrenching as when it is a family member.

If you have seen it in an animal you can see it in human beings if you look close enough. There is no mistaking it once you have seen it.
