I love science, I love the idea of man going in to space.  But in reality it hasn't produced anything here of earth, because zero gravity cannot be produced here on earth, yet.  All we have produced is one large drain or sewer where we threw large sums of money, the space station.   I am still for searching the universe, with robots to increase our knowledge of everything great.

We have also produced 8,000 (NASA) more people unemployed.....1500 of them get pink slips tomorrow.

I know, I know....reducing gov spending.....I think it was, overall, a good thing for innovation and inventions.

Gonna keep Russia in the chips though if we have to send our astronauts up.

I wish we would just walk a way from this white elephant.  We proved it could be done, nothing has been created from it, except some unknown things about space.  Because we can't produce zero gravity here on earth so we could not produce anything that is invented up there.

With a cost of over a $1,000 a pound to place something in low orbit and the enormous cost of keeping humans up there in a total vacuum.  You could produce diamonds, gold or life saving drugs up there and it would cost to much for anyone to buy.

I would bet if the USA quit spending money on this pie in the sky.  All of the other countries would drop this one hot expensive potato.     Then we can go out at night on a clear sky and see where we spent all of our money.  We learned a lot and we enjoyed it a lot and it's time has come.  RIP. :flag: :salute:

Would you tell me why.  I have thought about quite a bit and I can't see why we should keep it.  Is it to keep NASA?  I am for  that.  Why don't they have a project like when we went to the moon, but this one is to develop high energy batteries, using metals we have here in America, new wind mills.  To me the ones they have now are old technology.  How about Super Cold nonresistance power lines for transferring electricity around the country, saving million of dollars in energy.

I still want to explore the universe and I want to save all of the great men and women we have at NASA.  But the space station, I don't see it.

Can you tell me one thing that they have developed up there that can made and used in mass here on earth.

Long distance ultra sound devices.

Anti gravity treadmills - used to rehab folks after serious injury.

Carbon nanotubes - used to detect e coli and other bacteria.

"Fishbytes" a program that is based upon data from the ISS to predict where species of fish are most likely to be based upon temp and salinity.

And none of this takes into account the medical experiments that are currently enabling vast progress in the development of bone loss treatments, salmonella vaccines, etc.

Arguing with Christians is like playing chess with a pigeon.  No matter how good I am at chess, the pigeon is just going to knock over the pieces, shit on the board and strut around like it's victorious.

The truth is slow, but relentless. Over time it becomes irresistible.

Welcome to the club.

I know what I am going to say is going to have some people say, Troll has no compassion.

But I have no compassion for anyone from any walk of life to commit suicide with drugs and/or alcohol.  They want to say they do what they do because of the stress, what stress that they couldn't take a break from or walk away from.  This included being shot, because of the nasty people they run with and/or play too.  I'm just saying.
