I'd hate to hear the caterwauling coming from the peanut gallery had the tax rates just been increased within the same brackets as usual. . .

Like cats with their tails in a rat trap!

Exactly!!  People rolling their eyes and scoffing at the minor tax break knowing full well they would be all up in arms and pissed about the ENORMOUS tax increase of $13 if that had happened.
Take time to smell the roses.

You do the math: Food and all personal costs are going up, state, real estate, gas and other taxes are going up. Federal income taxes are more with less deductions. ( i am personally for the flat tax with tax on all luxury items) myself. Over 5 million people laid off jobs with loss of health insurance for their families, probably even their homes. A congress that voted themselves nearly 100,00.00 dollar raise during these hard times. Yep, I think that the dems are doing a good job. Rush is hitting a nerve with this yellow bellied sap suckers and they can't stand it. he he he!
Thats my story and I'm sticking to it!

Welcome aboard, mcgonser; this forum needed the ramblings of another uninformed, uneducated housewife!

As for Rush and his ilk, they're the best thing that ever happened to the Democratic party.

I found it very interesting that John McCain's daughter was interviewed on one of the morning news programs and discussed her distaste for the people who seem to be "speaking" for the Republican party.  She mentioned specifically Ann Coulter.  She said it is very hard to talk to the 20 somethings and 30 somethings about the ideals of the Republican party when the extremists are being seen as the norm.

Maybe the republican party should think about who they allow to represent them as a whole.

The point that she is missing is that they are the norm.  How many of our forum neocons have indicated that they support that stance and how many have condemned those taking it?

True but I would like to think that we don't have a very good cross section of repubs here!

I would like to think that as well but it isn't true.

You don't think people are more moderate in real life, than here? I'm not sure, but I hope so. There's plenty of opportunity for MOR discussions, but so often the issues are discussed based on biased sources...in one direction or the other. Then again people tend to gravitate towards what holds the most comfort for them. It's scary to think Ann Coulter is comfortable for someone.

I'm not; I'm a radical who doesn't much see a significant difference between nor care for either of the two major political parties.  Expecting a third party candidate to get elected, however, isn't reasonable so I am forced to select between the lesser of two evils.  Given that choice, I am forced to side against war-mongers who would like to force their religious dogma down my throat and for those who will at least visit using my money to help those who are less fortunate rather than using it to line the pockets of the already rich under the guise that that somehow benefits me.

Dude, you really need to seek professional help about your delusions of grandeur.  You're really making yourself look stupid.
