I can think of quite a few times I haven't been proud of my country for what it has done.

Yes, a lot of white people.

No, people who thought it was a tacky or stupid thing to say for a person whose husband was running for the highest office in our country.

He/she should have said 'a lot of bigoted white people'.  I understood her sentiment perfectly and found it neither tacky nor stupid.  Oh, and her husband won anyway.

Maybe she should take some classes in public speaking and tact to avoid those embarrassing situations?

I'm not a bigoted white person.....I think she said something STUPID...she screwed up.....I understand what she was TRYING to say...but picked the wrong words and the wrong time to say what she did....I don't dislike her.....I have NO problem what-so-ever with her.....she has a lot to learn at being in the spot light...and I think, she will probably make a very good first lady.

So, it's "stupid" to tell the truth? Perhaps that's what's wrong with our country.

she said it was the first time she has been proud of American in her adult life....that has been for 25-years now.........if it takes her husband to run for president to make her PROUD of her country........then, YEAH, I think that is a foolish thing to say.......or she really is stupid..........i prefer to think she made a foolish comment rather than a literal one..

You didn't my question. She was honest about how she felt, just because you (and others) disagree, doesn't make her stupid.
