I seen an interview with Whoopie Goldberg on Fox last night and she, being a rather intelligent person, explained the comment better than anyone else I've heard to this point. I understand the comment better now and see where Mrs. Obama might have been coming from.  I may not always agree with Whoopie on things but she is very articulate and very rarely uses the same old talking points to explain her position on things.
Ya'll really should give Fox a try instead of listening to all the tripe about them being biased.  Start out with Glen Beck.  He's a little irritating at times but will call out either side for wrong doing.

me, I do watch Fox and it's obvious that it's a right-wing Conservative slant news network. Glenn Beck is known as Conservative political commentator.  Which of the left-wing slant commentators do you watch?

I watch CNN, MSNBC, CSPAN and Fox at times, because I like to see how the story is going to be covered on each station. Try it, it's an eye-opener.

I don't trust Beck to cover anything.  He is a mor(m)on.

I abhor Whoopie Goldberg!!! She is about as racist as they come. Infact, I'd rather have a colonoscopy then listen to her ignorant racist bullshit.

Whoopie a racist?  That is a new one for me!

I listened to her syndicated radio show every morning until she left it and went to The View and racist was never a word that popped in my head while listening.

This may be because you think only white people are racist. A lot of people turn a deaf ear, and blind eye to racism towards white. It's ingrained in some people's minds, that white people are the only racist people in the world. I can think of a lot of terms that I find extremely racist towards whites.

They are....

White devils
Whitey ( like being white is a bad thing) ha!!!!
I'm sure there are a lot more... these are off the top of my head.

First of all, I don't think only white people can be racist.  And two, when was the last time any of the words you listed was used toward you or anyone else you know?  And if they are being used toward you, you might want to look at the reason why! I've NEVER been called any of those names.

Of course it's ridiculous to think that only white people are racist. No race is without it's collection of idiots.

I can't think of the last time that I've heard those terms either...maybe some old 70's movie

I've experienced racism and I have to admit the first time it was shocking and after that interesting to me...I can't fathom why someone would dislike another person based on something they have no control over AND something that has no bearing on the type of person they are.

That being said, I've never heard Whoopie use those terms. So, how is she a racist Dex?

Beck, Hannity, OReiley, Olberman, and Madow are all so far out of whack with the rest of the population.  They embellish, exaggerate, and present far left/right alarmist points of view for one reason only......ratings/money.  CNN had to get rid of Beck because they at least attempt to be unbiased.

I too like to watch foxnews and msnbc just to hear the diffent sides of the same story.....so I guess there stragety works because they are getting my ratings.

I would say Michelle is a fine role model for Americans.

Gosh Dex I had never noticed Whoopie being racist even in her stand up comedy routines.  Please point it out to me if I've missed something.  We usually agree on stuff and this surprises me to say the least.

I have never heard her utter a racist word and I have been following her for quite some time from the beginning of her stand up act.  Please provide just one quote.

Whoopie may in fact uses some of those terms in stand up, but in as humor, or most of the time as humor to point out the ignorance they represent.  I will assume you just didn't get it.
