Me, too and lets start by eliminating all deductions: each taxpayer gets to take the standard deduction and no more.

Crap, I might have to rethink that! You understand what I mean by that, don't you? That means you get no deductions for children and no deductions for non-working spouses. Only the people in any household who work and pay taxes get a deduction and it's the same amount for everyone.

We have to raise the debt limit for now. Why? Because during the George W. Bush administration, he and his Republicans financed two unfunded wars, a unfunded drug program and gave the largest banks (too big to fail) over a Trillion dollars. The Republican party broke America and the American people.
Raising the debt limit isn't for new spending it is for the past spending of George W. Bush. With this financial disaster the Republicans caused, with the housing bubble and stock market bust, the banking bust and the two war Billions of unfunded dollars, the chickens have come home to roost.
If we how do what the Republicans now, we will distroy all of the social nets for the people, force us back into a depression, just like Herbert Hoover did.
But we do need to stop all corporate welfare, stop all money to the oil companies, and make all corporations pay taxes. This bullshit of General Electric, Westinghouse millions of dollars in profit and not paying taxes. And tax these companies and the super rich who are keep Trillions of dollars in foreign countries to keep from paying American taxes. There is so many way to cut the budget with touching Social Security, Medicare and Medicade.
Also we need to go after the men, women and business who work under the table with cash and are not paying taxes. I know a guy who own three pizza stores and all of his employees are paid under the table with cash. He is not only screwing his employees he screwing the rest of us tax paying citizens. There has to be over a million people who make good money and not paying taxes. We don't need to go after grandma and grandpa.
The the main thing I want stopped :stop: is any deductions that "ME" and Henry get on their houses, especially "Me's" big new house.

Yes to the extent it does not hamper the killing power of the Army. The generals will have to give up some perks, and over seas the troops might have to do with out the fast food from home.
Wow, a semblence of harmony on the zone! :o

This is awesome; finally we have agreement on something! RC and 'me' agree to a one earner, one taxpayer, one deduction system with no deductions for non-working spouses (want another deduction, get a job!) and no deductions for breeders (sorry, if you can't feed 'em, don't breed 'em...not my responsibility to subsidize your breeding vis-a-vis deductions for your hell-spawn).
Let's lobby Congress and make this happen!
Are you with us RC? Henry?
Henry's got the flu pretty bad according to his post on the Random Comments thread in the moderated area. He may not be around much until he gets better.
Only if the end goal is to trash the nation's credit rating, weaken its defense, throw millions out of their homes due to foreclosure and the rampant unemployment, trash the economy and any progress made on its recovery, drive gasoline and other petroleum products price per gallon higher, triple the cost of milk and all other dairy products, and killing millions of Americans over starvation and disease.
Make no mistake, just saying "No' will indeed drive all of those things a a plethora of others as the domino effect impacts the entire nation and all who live within it.
People who do not understand the way economics works should not be given a vote surrounding key decision points of its day to day operations, policy changes, nor its path moving forward.
Now, I'm on board with the elimination of the breeder deductions, but let's see how many agree when they take away your mortgage deductions too.

The things you mention above should be cut this is why we are broke. If you have a house that you can not afford you should lose it, after 99 weeks unemployment to bad you are on your own. What part of 16 plus trillion in debt and we are broke do you not understand?

So you are an extremist conservative then. Nice.
So the "housing bubble" is just the foreshadowing of the massive homelessness that will result from the drop in new home construction and existing home remodels, the continued drop in the local and state revenue streams brought about by it, etc., etc., etc. ?
Trashing the nation's credit rating will equate to even less money available to consumers and what may be available will be at 3 and 4 times current rates. It will also mean the government will default on outstanding debts and result in massive cuts in headcount at the government level along with non-payment of social security. (But the hogs at the troughs will still get their pay).
It also means a total collapse of the nation's economy will result, which means any outstanding balance on your home and other credit purchases will suddenly increase; and some of them may potentially become "due in full" due to the failure of the institutions you owe.
Small businesses will fail by the millions nationwide, having their lines of credit dissolve.
And I don't want to hear you bitching about the price of petrol, the unreasonable licensing fees, and the outrageous cost of maintenance of your vehicles. (Just where do you think local government will make up the revenues it loses with the phalanx of empty homes and the loss of federal subsidization for infrastructure?)
And I hope you like powdered milk products. Because that will be the only thing you can afford when it comes to dairy. And forget about eggs. You can't afford them. And when your crops fail, because you WILL be forced to farm whether you like it or not, tough. That program takes the axe too according to you.
Finally, as the masses begin expiring on the streets due to starvation and disease, and the nation is overtaken by a foreign entity, what will you do? Bitch and moan of course.
I do not hate children, but feel free to jump to conclusions as you see fit. (You appear to do so quite readily as it is).
The fact is your deductions are nothing more than government subsidization of breeding, and since my breeding years are well behind me, I am unwilling to subsidize yours. (Or those of your children/grandchildren). Moreover, I am not going to pay for the healthcare of those children either.

It was by choice; I had my hands full raising the two who had been abandoned by their sperm donor. That was not meant as a slam that was meant as a fact. Your kids are young enough that someone who was the age we are now and had raised their kids paid taxes which included paying for schools. Schools were not subsidized by the federal government when we went to school but probably were by state taxes so someone who had raised their kids helped pay for us. I don't think the tax on schools should have to be paid by people who either have no kids or have none in school either but to refer to people who do have kids as breeders or, like Ex, refer to the kids as "hell spawn" is just a little over the top.

I fit in the group that pays for most of the shit that benefits people like you. I don't hate children; in fact, I really don't mind paying what I do in taxes when I fully understand that most of the benefits of doing so go to yours because I think it benefits society in general over the long term. What I loathe is people who F'k the system. The deadasses, who KNOWINGLY take from the system, when they are fully capable of suffering/working THEIR asses off, like the rest of us, to get by.
Don't try to tell me that it is a small number.........there are WAY too many out there, who continue to scream for unemployement checks, when they CAN actually go back to work for a paycheck. There are WAY too many out there who collect disability, when they have NO disability, other than having a moral conscience. There are WAY too many people out there who believe THEY are "entitled" to governments assistence.
I fully understand AND support people and programs who need help. I have no problems with saftey nets, and welfare programs to those who NEED a helping hand.
but, make NO mistake about it.........between my wife and myself, with only two children on my dependence....Pay a buttload of taxes.

You're right but here's what I do know: I know what I pay and, based on the current tax tables, I know what your exemptions are filing as head of household with yourself and your wife and your two dependent children as exemptions. I also know what you do for a living and what the industry norm salary for an RCDD is...maybe you make a little more than that...maybe a little less but I know the range because it's my job to know such things. Unless your wife is a doctor, and she isn't, your combined income comes nowhere near the $175k to $200k range necessary to even come close to what I pay in taxes so go blow that smoke up someone else's ass.
You also rent, if I recall correctly, so you pay no property taxes. Property taxes primarily fund schools and while mine do not directly fund your schools since we live in different counties, they do fund the schools of many like you much in the same way as homeowners in your county, many of whom also live well but have no children at home, pay for yours.
Again...you people who bitch the loudest about all of the freebies from the government are the same people who benefit most from them. You blather on about how your money pays for this and that but it isn't your money at all; it's mine. I subsidize your life and the suggestion that you subsidize mine simply by virtue of my having voted for a progressive is insulting to those of us who carry the rest of you. Put your money where your mouth is...do not claim your children as exemptions on your tax returns this year. If you aren't willing to take that simple step and accept personal responsibility for the children that
you chose to have without expecting some stipend for doing so, you have absolutely
no right to speak to people who expect things from the government.
It doesn't work both ways...accept responsibility...full responsibility...for your decisions in life or stop talking smack about how everyone else expects a handout because you're one of them.
And by the way, I am speaking only to my personal income, not our household income. Here's something else for you idiots to chew on: my fiance is retired at 50 and derives her income from dividends on her investments on which she pays a signifigantly lower tax rate than you pay without ever getting out of bed in the morning. That's what you support; right? Hell, lots of them are municipal bonds that have virtually no tax liability at all! Those investments don't create the jobs you claim they will but who cares; right?
It gets better! Her trust owns our mortgage! Here's what that means...she not only gets to pay herself interest but we get to deduct the interest that she is paying herself from our taxes! LMFAO! Isn't this a great country!
You people have absolutely zero understanding of the shit that you advocate.

Indeed it is; I've forseen downturns in the stock market, taken loans against my 401K when the price was high, paid myself more interest on the loan than I would otherwise have earned on the stock, bought the same stock back at a lower price and come out way ahead. You can make money all day long timing things right.
The bigger issue here is how little the pundits understand or are even participants in the market, how much faith they bestow in crap like Faux News and how they follow along blindly thinking that it will ultimately benefit them somehow while they are being taken for a ride. That they present themselves as being so much wiser than the rest of us and are more than willing to portray us as the dumb ones...well...that shit's just funny and they deserved what they get.

Talk to me about how well you're doing if the stock market crashes and you can no longer take those wonderful deductions. I'll loan you some of my mattress money I've been able to sock back by living within my means and stashing.

Suck it, hater! Our investments are well diversified. We live well within our means; our means are just a lot more than yours. Sorry you didn't plan so well.

It comes across to me as though he's pulling that "I'm better than you are" crap once again under the guise of trying to tell me how the tax loopholes for the rich work. I know how they work and I don't happen to care to play the game. More than one person thought they knew what they were doing and lost their asses.
Quote from: Exterminator on January 10, 2013, 07:18:35 PM
If you aren't willing to take that simple step and accept personal responsibility for the children that you chose to have without expecting some stipend for doing so, you have absolutely no right to speak to people who expect things from the government.
It doesn't work both ways...accept responsibility...full responsibility...for your decisions in life or stop talking smack about how everyone else expects a handout because you're one of them.
I can tell you for a FACT you are wrong on more than a couple of your "so-called" Knowledge of my personal life....and boy, what an opportunity for you to go on, and on, and on about yourself.......you never miss an opportuntiy
First of all, I do NOT rent, I have my own home....and have for some time now.
Second, YES, I am a RCDD, but that is only a credential I have obtained to go along with the MANY aspects of my job and responsiblities.
Third, my "household" may not be in the price range as YOUR household....but it is MUCH closer than you think...
and lastly you have proven to me that you have absolutely zero understanding of the shit that you advocate.... ;)
You clearly missed the part about going and blowing smoke up someone else's ass; public records are a bitch.

Yep, now we're trillions in debt instead of billions, no budget, rising prices, lower property values, a high unemployment rate which doesn't include people who are underemployed or have quit looking, lowered credit rating for the first time in history, and after 5yrs it's only getting worse. If you call that digging out I'd hate to see your finances as they really must be instead of how you say/think they are.

How many times do we need to remind you that the increase in the deficit is due to a combination of decreased revenues as a result of a Republicn administration crashing not only the country's but the world economy and automatic increases in entitlement programs passed into law by Republican legislators long before Obama was ever even a known entity? Obama's first term administration increased spending by less than any administration in the past 60 years.
Oh, yeah...but in your circles he's a porch-monkey so it must be his fault.

When he came on has nothing to do with anything now. It also had nothing to do with the way the focus is always taken away from what's being talked about by putting down any poster who happens to disagree or post a negative comment about the administration. If it can't be redirected by picking on sentence structure or spelling you go for the character put down.

There's a lot more to the picture than just the unemployment numbers, you moron...not that even marginal increases in jobs aren't better than the tens of thousands that were being shed at the end of the pervious administration's tenure. Anyone who can honestly suggest that things aren't better now than they were then is a complete idiot...marginally stupider that a rock.

Oh, you mean the increased cost of goods and services, the decrease in the amount you get for your buck, our credit rating being lowered, no budget for the last 4yrs, trillions of dollars in debt instead of billions?
In WV things are a lot slower since obama took office.
Things have always been a lot slower in WV.
Uh, West Virginia is my home state also, and even though I left at an early age, and hate what some of those still there are doing, or have not been doing, to/for the state, I still call it home.
