I hope I have this name right. I saw a commercial about a documentary that was being done on what happened to the dogs this man left after his arrest. BUT, I forgot the time and day and I can't find it. Does anyone know anything about this?

I'm not sure I saw a preview for it too somewhere. I can't watch it, or I may end up with my fist through the TV screen. That guy makes me sooooo mad, that everytime I see him I wanna choke him.  :icon_twisted: He makes me sick.

Thank goodness some of them could be saved. I know a bunch of them had to be euthanized. I don't know how somebody could do something like that to innocent animals.

I couldn't read much about it, but I wanted to know which or if any dogs were able to be saved. I don't want one. I truly believe that they are born to maim and kill and anyone who has one is just trying to prove superiority over a dog. You can't beat nature.
To me that is no reason to own that dog. I don't think I could ever trust one around a child. Its just not worth it.

I have a hard time watching "animal police" ( or some thing like that) I will watch a little bit of it and get sick and mad and change channels.
What is so odd about me is that I can put an IV in a newborn babies scalp vein but could never work for a Vet.

I don't even watch Animal  Planet because, they have a lot of shows about animal abuse, and it sickens and disgusts me.

Well you are talking to someone who owns a pit...and he's the best dog.... He doesn't like ti when strange dogs come intot he yard...but I wouldn't trade him for anything.  This breed never had the bad rap it has now until about 20 years ago, when idiot like Michael Vic started buying, raising, and fighting them.

Everybody I know that have Pits always say they're nice dogs. I think the way they are raised is what makes them the turn out mean. Dogs only learn what they are taught.

I hope you are both right. I have never owned a pit so I guess I spoke out of turn. Good Luck and I hope nothing bad ever happens.
Great move with the rescue. I hope more of these dogs find good homes.
We are still looking for a dog for my little girl. There are so many of them to pick from, that I cant decide.

No no.... you didn't speak out of turn.  You stated what you know, or have been told. It's  a good thing to give your opinion ..... that's what we're here for.  Pitbulls are portrayed as dangerous dogs, and there are a lot of them that are. I really think it is upbringing that turns them mean. I've seen many that were very docile.

Boxers make real good pets. They're kind of goofy, and extremely lovable. I don't know much about their temperament, but from what I have seen, they seem like nice dogs.

Thats what I had always heard but my oldest son called me today and told me that he thought I was making a big mistake by thinking of a boxer. He said that he has heard that they can turn mean. I have never heard that.
Like you, I had always heard they were kinda goofy, lazy and lovable.  Just like me.

LOL!!!  I suppose any dog could turn mean. I really think it's all in the upbringing. Here's a story.... My brother in law got a Sharpe puppy for his 5 kids. Those kids were sooooo ornery to it... as in.... pulling its tail and ears, and trying to ride it around the house, that it turned mean, and attacked one of them. The kid required surgery, and stitches in his face, and ear. Sharpes are one of the most docile type of dog but, in certain circumstances they can maim, and kill. I think it's all in the upbringing. Now.... if you want a nice dog that wont turn on you, you should consider getting a Pug. My Pug Pugsly is 12 years old, and he has never shown any aggression whatsoever. The only times he ever came close, was when the cats try to take his food. Even then, he just stands there and barks and growls and jumps up and down, at them while they merrily eat his food LMAO!!! He's quite a little guy.  :smitten:
