here is one source Lolly, that pretty much got me to think the way I am....a pie chart shows $499 billion, STILL not spent, but allocated....wtf?  how is that making THIS the "summer of recovery"?

Whoa! But you said ...

"The stimulus money is all but unaccounted for even though over $500 billion dollars has gone somewhere"

It has been accounted for as your chart shows. There is a HUGE difference between "unaccounted for" and "allocated."

And how can you blame the bureaucracy of the states on the Obama administration?

From your article ....

"That's because states have to jump through hoops before they can claim the funds and put them to use. Some have to get approval from their legislatures before they can spend the money. Others must wait for municipalities and school districts to submit applications to state agencies before distributing the dollars."

"Some states need legislative approval before they can start spending their slice of the stimulus pie. This can be a time-consuming process.

Take Florida. State officials only received the okay to spend $1.35 billion in highway and bridge projects on April 15, when the legislative budget commission met. The state's transportation department also consulted with cities, counties and metropolitan planning organizations to pare down its initial list of $7 billion in infrastructure projects."

Umm .... Henry? That source is dated May 5, 2009. That's one year and five months ago. Now since the bill had only passed in late February of that year (that's only about two and a half months before this article was published) I don't find it particularly gasp-worthy that $499 billion was still in the account at that time. I'm fairly certain that in the seventeen months since the appearance of the article, more disbursements have taken place. As Olias points out, the funds had been allocated, even way back then. Betcha they have all been passed out as planned in the (in case you haven't yet grasped the point) SEVENTEEN MONTHS! since your sky-is-falling article was published.

You need to pay a little more attention to the details, and not knee-jerk so quickly over some out-dated, slanted piece of propaganda that appears in your in-box.

How ya been Henry? I was hoping you hadn't flown the coop. Us creatures of the forest have to stick together.

I see where the most transparent administration in history blocked the estimates of that BP oil spill.

What the Hell is a signature? Am I supposed to type something in this box? I guess I'll find out.

I'm doing wonderful Lester...I'm taking a break.  Take notice when you post something on here that makes excellent sense, such as the BP link you posted....NO one else will comment on it.

I'll be back in action soon enough, but I may take the Palehorse route and lay low on the Politics and Religion...it is tough when you are right about everything all the time and nobody appreciates it... ;D ..(jest jokin)

I would have commented on it, but I have found that Lester knows what I am thinking (and expresses it better than I could) before I open my mouth. I'm glad two of my favorite guys are getting to know each other.

Depends on what part of the chicken you are talking about. Actually, I am not too picky when it comes to eating Troll.
