It was a year ago today that I lost my beloved Champy. This is a very hard day. It doesn't seem like it's been a year, but it has. It seems like it was just yesterday. I try to look back at the good times, and not dwell on the bad, but it is extremely hard sometimes. There are sooooo many what ifs and whys. It still doesn't seem fair, that a little kitten who survived soooo much neglect and abuse, and seemed to be doing soooo well ,could be gone, just like that. As soon as I can make myself do it, I'm going out to her grave. Her rose bush is looking really good, and should have flowers before too long. I have Peonies and Bachelor Buttons (my favorite) in bloom, so I'm taking a bouquet of them to her grave. I sure do miss her, and it kills me to think of that day.

It's ironic that on this day, I would have to bring 2 kittens in the house to feed them ,because their Mama was nowhere around, and they were in the burn pile crying their little eyes out. I brought them in, fed and watered them, and medicated their eyes. When I took them out to the deck, here came Mama looking for them. Thank God!!!! I've already got enough to deal with. I think I will have to supplement their diet though, because they're pretty little, and she's not taking care of them full time. I can't let the little things starve that's for sure.

Right now, I'm trying to focus on Baby Dexter to get me through today. When I look at him, I see hope. And I hope to God, that he'll let Baby Dexter be with me for a very long time. I need that really bad, after how things turned out with Champy.

I'm really sorry, Dex. I know yesterday was tough for you and although I know you miss Champ, you made her life SO much richer because you were a part of it. She knew, everyday, that she was loved wholeheartedly and unconditionally and that's the greatest gift anyone can bestow and you better believe she returned every ounce of love from you, ten-fold.

I hope today is a little easier.

Thanks PIYA. After I took the flowers I felt better. Once again Hubby and I disscussed the memory garden. We're not sure what we're going to do. I may be forced to move her, because it's up in the air, as to wether or not, we will be living here. I'm going to post a little more about it, in the vent thread.
