A new movie by Ben Stein......Expelled: No Intelligence Allowed.......challanges darwinism.............opens nationwide on April 18th.

at one point in the movie Stein points out to his astonishment, Dawkins concedes that life might indeed have a designer but that designer almost assuredly was a more highly evolved being from another planet, not "God."

This could be a very interesting movie for a great discussion.....

Why is Intelligent Design/Creationism and Evolution so mutually exclusive?

Have you ever considered that Evolution may simply be God's tool for the Creation?

And why should we listen to Ben Stein, a  lawyer and speechwriter for Nixon and Ford, on the subject of Science?

What are his scientific credentials?

Didn't he play a boring  Economics Teacher in a movie?

so he is not allowed to question this?...He never claims to be a scientist...so, you have to have credentials now?...where were Al Gores?  Ben, just did a few interviews....and challenged a few questions...

and here we go...

What's so crazy about it? And you take the speculation of ONE man over the entire scientific community? He never claimed it was science after all, did he?

I don't listen to any stinkin' lawyer on the matters of science, and that includes Al Gore.

Even scientists are free to CLAIM their OPINIONS, even aetheist scientists.

But I fail to see where he has formed a hypothesis and presented scientific evidence to support his CLAIM.

Is Bo the only one to want to make ANY comments about this movie?

Dan, I was sure you would have SOME rhetoric remarks..

Gryphon

I was at the Field Museum in Chicago last weekend, they have an excellent exhibit on evolution. (Which, far from being propoganda, is one of the most wildly supported theories in science)
Bird...I wonder why you thought Bos idea was crazy? I also dont think the two ideas are necessarily at odds with one another? Id be interested in hearing more from you on that.

Made by aliens?? Suddenly a lot makes sense...
;D

First of all, I should apologize into claiming anybody's view as crazy....I understand HOW people who do not believe in the Biblical claims as being crazy...to think that God had an immaculate birth of His son...lived on this earth as a regular man...(without sinning) then perform miracles....be crucified, THEN resurrected from the dead...three days later.........and made the claim to return and bring "home" all believers...well a little strange to say the least...

But, It "too me" is NO stranger than thinking that THIS fantastic rock we live on, was created by an explosion...10 billion years ago...(or whenever)...and apes walked the planet and after about a few million years they lost hair, straightend up...became a "tad" more intelligent...OR now, maybe some life on another planet dropped off a few of their people to teach us how to be civilized...or really you name the scenario....it is ALL a bit of a stretch....

NOW....for me, I have had, a very personal and clear, relationship, with what I believe to be as a guiding force, drivin by my inner spirit or conscience....I, have referred to it as the Holy Spirit....I have based this on a book, that is undeniably the BEST selling book of all time...it has been tryed to be debunked for years without any major significant success....a book, I find more and more amazing the more I read it...the truths and wisdom it reveals has me geeked more than anything, EVER in my life...this Holy Spirit I have mentioned...has personally TOUCHED me in so many ways...and has guided me through some seriously rough times in my life....to the point, I KNOW beyond a shadow of a doubt that it is as real as the clouds in the sky....

So real, I truly wish EVERYONE would experience what God can do for them......But, I know there is nothing that I can do to make this happen.....other than share my own testimonies that I have experienced in my life....that's it.

To hear stories that conflict with my beliefs is something that I will not accept as truths....I am trying NOT to persecute those who have opposing views...but, I cannot with a clear conscience acknowledge them as an okay thing...if asked MY opinion, I will tell them.....If given the opportunity to vote for a person who understands the significance of living life for God, then I will vote for them....NOT someone who is using God as a tool to get votes...but, by my own discretion of someone who has decided to live as taught by the teaching's of Jesus...to lead, and legislate with those values taught....

anyway, I DID go on a tangent their, but I answered the best I could.....was there another direction you wanted me to go with this?.. :)

Henry, Henry, Henry.  I don't know how many times I've pointed this out.  Humans did not evolve from apes.  Apes and humans share a common ancestor but are different branches of the tree.

Try spending a lil' less time at church and reading the bible, and go back to school and read some educational (especially scientific) texts...please.  You'll thank me for it later.

Law of Logical Argument - Anything is possible if you don't know what you are talking about.  ;)

"You've probably noticed that opinion pollsters go out of their way to include as many morons as possible in surveys ... I think it's dangerous to inform morons about what their fellow morons are thinking. It only reinforces their opinions. And the one thing worse than a moron with an opinion is lots of them." -- Scott Adams

"Hitler is gone, but if the majority of our fellow citizens are more susceptible to the slogans of fear and race hatred than to those of peaceful accommodation and mutual respect among human beings, our political liberties remain at the mercy of any eloquent and unscrupulous demagogue." -- S.
