I kind of like corn fritters too. They're in the same category I think.  Man, you can fry just about everything LOL!!!
Wouldn't corn fritters be more like fried mush?

Nope, more like a thick tortilla.

Never had one.  What do they taste like?

You've never had a tortilla? A soft taco or burrito? That's a flour tortilla (more than likely), but they make them from corn too. They're tasty ... much better than flour.

I had a tortilla one time and didn't care for it.  I stick mostly to the burrito's and taco's in a Mexican restaurant.  At Taco Bell its usually a Mexican Pizza or Nacho supreme.

I worked at a Taco Bell years ago. I'll never forget my first day..... you know those little cinnamon twists they have? Somebody yelled to me drop some twists. They didn't give an amount they just told me to drop them. Anywho... I poured a bunch of them in the fryer, those things really expand. Before I knew what was happening, they were bubbling up over the sides of the fryer. They were going all over the floor.  :spooked: I was mortified!!!! I didn't get in to trouble though. FYI.... those things start out as corkscrew pasta.

OMG!!! I couldn't believe it was happening LOL!!! I just stood there watching the pile get bigger and bigger, and I started grabbing baskets to try to catch them. The customers at the counter were LTAO, one of the managers turned around and yelled "Holy Sh*t!!!!". I couldn't believe those are the exact same corkscrew pasta you buy at the store. They just fry it and add cinnamon and sugar. Who would've thunk it?

Now what idiot was the first one to say, "I wonder what would happen if we put pasta in the deep fryer".  It had to be a southerner.  They deep fry anything in the fridge or pantry!
Take time to smell the roses.

I've eaten at Taco Bell since the mid 70's.  They used to have a taco burger that was out of this world. The cinnamon crisps used to be in the shape of a triangle and were more like a pie dough thing instead of being full of holes and airy.
