I installed the new modem that is SUPPOSED to be faster than ever.........but, it is worse now than ever!
I have a Netgear wireless modem with the Ubee D3.0 I got from Comcrap and it works just fine. It's still not as fast as my DSL was but I'm happy with it.

So is mine. I bought one from their list of "approved modems that will work perfectly with our new system", called them and endured a 1/2 hour sales pitch before they finally pinged my new modem, and it worked great for 5 minutes.

I am going to BITTERLY complain to them. . . repeatedly!

Sorry guys, but I'm happy to report that my Comcast connection works GREAT!!!!

Last year I got a notice from them that I was getting a free speed upgrade. But I found that the modem I had wouldn't handle the new high speed. So ... I tripped over to the Comcast outlet and handed them my old modem. I told the guy that I had read that some of their modems were not VPN compatible and that I absolutely had to be able to remote in to my network. He assured me that the new one would work. So home I went, plugged it in and  - NO VPN.

So back to Comcast (thankfully it's only five minutes from home) - same guy. I told him it wouldn't work. He said that he knew a lot of people who used it with no trouble to "log in to their portal at work." AAAARRRRRGGGGHHHHH! I was in the middle of explaining to him (rather loudly at this point) that logging in to a portal is NOT VPN!!!!!!!

At that point another guy behind the counter told him, "oh, he needs the SMC modem" (SMCD3GNV)

Took that one home, plugged it in, reset the VPN, and VOILA!!!!!

Happy camper here! Almost instantaneous internet - unbelievably fast!

Then this only serves to demonstrate that you are indeed the exception that proves the rule. What rule? COMCRAP SUCKS!

I have had dial up service that is faster than the level of service I am receiving from them, and have been for over 6 months. IF I had a choice that had an ice cubes chance of being better I would take advantage of it; but I do not.

I am SO over that company I could projectile vomit!

This one's for you Palehorse, and others who may have Comcrap.  It's an article on a push by Comcrap to up their social media presence in response to customer complaints about their horrible customer service.  ;D

I found this part of the article to be particularly interesting:

In one of the more embarrassing incidents, a Comcast customer posted a recording of a frustrating eight-minute phone call in which a rep refused to cancel the caller's service.

And Comcast landed in hot water earlier this year after someone at the company changed the name of customer Ricardo Brown to A--hole Brown, on a bill after he canceled the cable service. A 63 year-old from Illinois got a bill in the mail addressed to Super B---- Bauer.

The Troll

The Troll has said for years the police are out of control and that the country was becoming a police state.  You have a better chance of being killed by a cop than struck by lightning.

Today another unarmed black kid was shot four times in the back by a cop.  :police: The cop said the kid was reaching for a small gun.      That's what all killer cops :police: say.  He was reaching for a weapon, I was scared for my life or I grabbed my 357 pistol instead of my Tazer.  :haha:  This is plain bullshit.  If a cop is so scared for his life he should quit.  He was wasn't drafted for the job.

Actually, that happened in September of 2013 in Palm Beach County right up the road from me.  I think the dashcam video was just released yesterday, and so it's back in the news cycle.  The kid didn't die, but is now paralyzed.

Yep, paralyzed for life!  I wonder how much this illegal shooting will cost the taxpayers.  Another bad cop trying to kill an unarmed person.

Not all cops are out there killing people. You only hear about the bad ones and not the ones who help people out. There were some officers who could have arrested a guy for stealing diapers and when they heard that he had no money for diapers, they bought some and food. It only takes one bad apple to spoil the whole bunch and that is what is going on with some officers.

Oh Sweet Thing, you forgot one, the cop that bought the homeless guy a pair of shoes.    :smitten:  How sweet and he didn't shoot him.  :rotfl:
