Arguing with Christians is like playing chess with a pigeon.  No matter how good I am at chess, the pigeon is just going to knock over the pieces, shit on the board and strut around like it's victorious.

The truth is slow, but relentless. Over time it becomes irresistible.

American democracy faces a very real threat. The power of money is overwhelming the power of average voters to influence government decisions.. . .

Exactly!

This article points out what I and several others have been saying on this very forum since the "Wise-Fools" granted corporations constitutional rights and unfettered contribution levels to political parties.

Our government is now the very best of those available to be bought!

But Sugar Buns, I am quite sure they would contribute to the Republican candidates if they would support laws supporting the middle class working people here in America.

But Sugar Buns can you name me any law that have been passed by the Republican/Tea Party leaders that are for the working, middle class people and can you name me any laws that have improved the voting laws for the huddled masses here in this country?  Come on Butter Cup, you of all people should come up with something that isn't a lie or excuse.

Holy hell. . . So the White House brokers the release of a POW that has been held for 5 years by the Taliban, by releasing 5 Gitmo Detainees in a prisoner exchange. The soldier appeared to be near death due to illness, and the administration felt that if this was not successful he would die in captivity.

Now, after he is safe and undergoing treatment in Germany, we are hearing the caterwauling of the conservative ass-hats, complaining of being out of the loop for a year and half over these issues, etc., and other members of his former unit and their families, screaming for his head due to a perceived dereliction of duty, abandonment of his post, etc.

1. Sorry, but these ass hats in congress have zero reason to complain. They have clearly demonstrated over the last 6 years that they are not to be trusted, especially when the lives of Americans are concerned. Keep bawling you cry babies. You'll soon find yourselves on the outside looking in.

2. As for the families and former members of his unit; your day is coming. Rest assured he will face the UCMJ surrounding these allegations and receive prescribed punishment should he be found guilty. However, I dare say that if he is found guilty at any level, no amount of punishment will be enough for you. From the sound bytes being spread across the media of your position, it would appear he would have been far better off being be-headed by the Taliban than being required to pay penance for his perceived transgressions.

Let the system work, let the man come home to his family, and stand before a Court Martial to answer the questions before him. Until then, STFU and wait.

I think this is being diverted by the press into another story.......the story I am more concerned with is that Obama going against the law by releasing prisoners at Gitmo, without notifying congress 30 days prior.

Also, is this infringing upon "Negotiating with terrorists?"

and to boot, 5 to1?  Not even a reasonable deal.

But, that is all I am going to say....lets give this some time to shake out.

Yeah,  let's shake it out. :haha:  It's just another way to build up hate for Obama. O0      These "terrorist" Taliban were fighting the American invasion, they are not the Al-Qaeda.   And how in hell would you know what a reasonable deal is, when it comes to a military decision.  :chick:

Seriously? This last week of media propaganda filler is nothing more than horse shit!

You mean to tell me there isn't anything better than reviewing the infamous OJ Simpson "White Bronco car chase" from 20 years ago?

Who the hell gives one friggin damn about that shitty period in this country's shameful history?

1. A low speed car chase in an early sport utility vehicle, with Simpson riding in the back seat with a .357 to his own head.

2. A phalanx of police units following them.

3. Crowds gathering along the route to wave, cheer, and jeer.

4. Police investigative work that must have been conducted by a local kindergarden class.

5. A weeks long televised trial that served to accentuate the ineptness of the police department and the prosecutors office, forcing a jury to render the only verdict it could.

6. And the "shocking" revelation of racism within that same investigating authority.

I'd just as soon forget the whole fucking fiasco; especially since karma ensured the perp is sitting int he sin bin anyway, instead of schlepping booze and swatting golf balls on high profile golf courses.

But noooooooo. These asshats have to "celebrate" the whole damned mess 20 years later, and rip the scabs off the wounded souls of the victims families. . .

That guy is fuckin' unbelievable.  He literally gets away with murder, astonishing anyone with half a brain. He knows the whole country is after him and that he could get imprisoned for merely pissing on a tree, yet still goes out and does that because someone "has his shit" and he wanted it back.

I guess he thought what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas, or that consequences are things that happen to other people.

You would think the news could find something more news worthy than some asshole who got away with murder 20 years ago.
