I really wish you would get over yourself.  If you honestly believe that raising the wages on 3% of our workforce is going to make our economy thrive...then I know for a FACT you have NO clue to what YOU are talking about.

Cut that number in half because 50% of the min wage earners are under the age of 24.

I have read numerous articles and talked to plenty of businessmen, that secures my stance that raising it is NOT the best thing to help our nation when we are struggling with a sluggish economy.

Obama is only once again, playing politics and NOT doing what is best for our country.

Wow. Don't pull a muscle stretching like that!

I guess shoving our nation over the fiscal cliff and trashing its credit rating in the process, IS the best way to stimulate the economy then! Yeah, lets put tens of millions of additional people onto the unemployment rolls, eliminate the unemployment federal extensions or hold them hostage to our political ideals, push the housing industry into the sewers and create even MORE homelessness, and watch medical insurance rates go through the roof! All we gotta' do is continue saying no!

What is so hard to understand about minimum wage goes up, hours go down, prices go up, things are the same, or worse, as a result?

Don't be a dummy.  Nothing will change, the business will raise the price of the product and business will stay the same if you sell a good product, Hockey Puck.

You know damn well business don't pay for labor, they have the customers pay for it.  It's been that way since time began.     So get your head out of your ass and think.  Hell, you should know, you said you had a business, oh that's right you went bankrupt on it.

If you were poor and working some shitty job working 40 hours a week making minimum wage and you started making an extra $80 a week more wouldn't you consider it a win and a bright light in your miserable life.

Hell, you might be able to go out an eat once in a while, or go to a movie once in a while, or buy a nice warm coat at a retail store instead of Good Will.  I know after I finished my apprenticeship I sure like the raise I got and the money I started making.     But I suppose you wouldn't, Sweetie Pie.

Where are you coming up with that $80 figure anyway?  If employers had to pay out an extra $80 for each minimum wage employee that would be a tidy little sum especially for the small business who had more than 5 or 6 employees that covered.  You need to use your head for something besides a hat rack.

The minimum wage was never for people to continue to make a living at.  It was for young, people and people just going into the job force.  You should not try to raise a family on it.  Stop wanting something for nothing and work your way up the ladder.  The government should not mandate any wage, let the market forces say what is to be paid.

They don't understand personal responsibility.  They have been brainwashed into thinking the government is the be all and end all when it comes to knowing what's best for the whole and we wouldn't be able to survive without them taking care of us lowly peasants.

Not true.
Arguing with Christians is like playing chess with a pigeon.  No matter how good I am at chess, the pigeon is just going to knock over the pieces, shit on the board and strut around like it's victorious.

The truth is slow, but relentless. Over time it becomes irresistible.

Not true, but for a moment lets go with that shall we?

The reality is that most if not all of the new jobs being created pay at this rate, or barely above it, and many of the significant legacy positions that remain are at rates that aren't much better. Combine that with high insurance premiums and those legacy jobs are paying minimum wage or below.

The reality TODAY is that minimum wage positions ARE supporting families, (barely), and ARE the only positions out there with which people are expected to "make a living at".

Any of you holding a position that enjoys above average compensation rates and benefits had best be putting a ton of money into your savings, because you are at risk of being relegated to living the "dream" you are spewing in short order. You are one moment away from losing that position each and every day, and when it happens the reality that you deny today will become your life.

And when it happens to you, you will regret your position today.
