You should have known that I did if you read my replies.

I doubt very much whether she read her own replies. Why would she read yours?

Since I don't follow hockey at all.  What the problem?  Greed on the owner's part.

I find this logic hard to disagree with:
"This isn't  rocket  science," Mr. DeMint, South Carolina Republican,  said.   "Everyone knows  that when you take money out of the economy, it   destroys  jobs, and  everyone knows that when you give politicians more   money, they  spend  it. This is why Republicans must oppose tax increases   and insist on   real spending reductions that shrink the size of   government and allow   Americans to keep more of their hard-earned  money."

That's not logic at all...where, exactly, does the government spend money that takes it out of the economy?

UH, TAXES...The point is, perhaps we need to cut our spending to fit our revenue, not raise our revenue to fit our spending.

That whooshing sound you heard was the point going over your head.  When we pay taxes and the government spends that money, it is still in the economy.  If we paid taxes and the government burned the money, it wouldn't be.

The whole point is, let's allow AMERICANS spend THEIR OWN money on things that will benifit THEM.  Not letting the government WASTE money on foolishness such as:

The Environmental Protection Agency awarded a $141,450 grant under the Clean Air Act to fund a Chinese study on swine manure and a $1.2 million grant to the United Nations for clean fuel promotion.

or

The U.S. Navy bought 450,000 gallons of biofuels for $12 million—or almost $27 per gallon—to conduct exercises to showcase the fuel and bring it closer toward commercialization. It is the largest biofuel purchase ever made by the government.

or

$325,000 was spent on a robotic squirrel named "RoboSquirrel." This National Science Foundation grant was used to create a realistic-looking robotic squirrel for the purpose of studying how a rattlesnake would react to it.

and this kind of BS goes on and on and on!!

so, the whooshing sound was zooming over YOUR head....

common sense dictates that the entrepreneurs of this country KNOW how to create jobs.....NOT our government.

Okay, I have a REAL, legitimate act of venting:

I just called a local Doctor to cancel and appointment for my wife.  After being on hold for over five-minutes, I finally was able to speak to the front office assistant.  I asked her to cancel the appointment, and she asked me to spell my last name.  I did.  She was quite for at least 30 seconds.  She asked if I could once again, spell my last name.  I did.  She repeated it back to me,..... Incorrectly.   I spelled my name, very slowly and as clear as I possibly could.  Btw, it is a very easy name.  She was silent for another 30 seconds or so.   She said she did not have anyone scheduled by that name.  I told her, again!  I said the first name and the second name very slowly and clearly.  She asked if my name was #$@%#$%.  I said NO, it was ________!  I spelled it one letter, waited 2 seconds, then the second letter....2 seconds came the third and so on.

Finally she said OH!  I have it right here!!!  I'm sorry!  She said the name....correctly!  hallelujah! How Crap!  after a ten minute ordeal, I now have my wifes Dr. appointment CANCELLED!!!    :spooked:

Ever wonder just how stupid a person has to be to cling to the notion of supply side economics despite mountains of evidence definitively proving it's a lie?
