I don't think so pal........you have the WH and the Senate.......quit blaming everything that doesn't go your way.  This economy is Obama's now.  HE has to make some concessions, reach across the aisle as HE PROMISED...and strike a deal.

the onus is up to them.  The repubs has every much right to stand for their issues as the dems....the repubs see massive tax hikes as dangerous to our economy.  Why should they "just do it" ?

Henry all of the budget bills come out of the House of Representives and as you know it is controlled my Republicans and Grover Norquest.  The reason the last 4 years hasn't been as good as it should be is, because it is controlled lock stock and barrel by the Republicans and Grover.  That's the truth Bunky.

Why should Obama make consessions to the party of "NO" and the sadistic worshipers of the super rich and multinational corporations.     I'm afraid that Obama, if he doesn't try to be nice.  Your Republican's asses are grass and Obama is going to mow it.  :mow: :haha:  :haha:  To make it simple to the simple, we the Democrats and Obama has got the Republican Party by the balls.     And I want to :smash: them.

The latest health study of Sciatic Nerve Pain.

The latest study says that Steroid  pain shots don't work.     I am here to testify that they don't.  After four years of three pain doctors, a spine and brain surgeon, five therapy sessions I got no relief that lasted for very long.  The doctors and hospitals use sciatic nerve pain to generate money.  The first pain doctor, I need a MRI and a hip X-ray.  Two series of shots that didn't work.  The second doctor was a spine and brain surgeon.  I need another MRI and a hip X-ray.  He wouldn't operate, he said more pain shots and therapy and I went to his pain doctor.  The pain shot lasted eleven months. they wore off and I when back to get some more.  Guess what, I need to see the surgeon again, another MRI and and another hip X-ray.

I had had it.  Then I saw an advertisement on TV about the Laser Spine Institute in Scottsdale AZ.  I flew there and they give me a MRI and found that two nerves were being pinched by the bone in my vertebra.  No shots, no therapy and no exercises was going to work.  The doctors made a 2 inch incision in my back and with their tools and lasers they open up the bone channel surrounding the nerves in my back.  Oh the relief.

When I woke up the pain was gone.  Right now the only pain I have is the operation it's self.  After four years of pain, ooh the relief.

It cost me $13,900 for the operation, Medicare paid $5,000.  If I hadn't had Medicare it would have cost me $18,9000.  Plus $1,000 in airfare, $1,080 for hotel and $450 for a rental car.  Expensive?  Yes.  Worth it?  You're damn right, I just wish I knew about the Laser Spine Institute sooner.           And the Republicans want to cut Medicare.     :finger2: Republicans.     If you got back pain, neck pain and can get the money Go.  They are Pros.
Thank you for posting that, Troll. I am going to pass it on to my sister, who is right now still getting the steroid shots.

And you know this because you are fully apprised of the working conditions, wages, etc. at the plant?

Or is it because you have a built-in prejudice against unions and have assumed that a demand for negotiations immediately spells doom for a business?

How have you gained your insight?

I know this because Hostess had asked them to take an 8% cut in pay the first year of the five-year agreement. Salaries were then scheduled to bump up 3% in the next three years and 1% in the final year.

But the bakers union said no.

Now they are closed.

Then tell me SCAB, why did they, the leaders give themselves raises in pay, and bonuses.  Yea, closing down forever.  Well, kiss my ass.  :azz:  They will open back up with a little different name and the company will be a nonunion SCAB business.   This seem to be the way to break unions.   Just look at the Airlines.  Cheaper paid workers and pilots, cheaper quality, bad food in first class and no foor in economy class and poor service in the Airlines.     If you want to know what a cow feels in a slaughter chute and a sardines in a can, just fly economy class.  You can get it all at one time in a American passenger plane.       :para:

the Unions kill another good thing!  Nice Job!

And did the unions do this all by themselves or did the members vote on it?  Either way, it's stupid; I don't understand how having no job is better than having a job with slightly less pay.

And, at the same time the CEO, the CFO, and other major upper-level owners/executives of the plant cut their salaries by how much?

I'm sure the million-dollar wage receivers didn't take one, even though in today's health-conscious market, they devised absolutely NO alternative plan for a company making arguably the most unhealthy food in the United States.

And aren't those big pay takers responsible for the direction of the company and its ultimate responsibility to identify market trends and make the necessary changes?

If not, what the hell IS their responsibility?

To just sit back and earn money off the backs of the production workers?

OH. MY. GOD.

I think that previous statement was an epiphany for me that I had NEVER, EVER, EVER thought of before, and neither had anyone else before me. (sarcasm definitely intended)

But then, it's easier to blame someone else, even though you are responsible for the leadership of the company.

Those damn factory workers don't have a brain in their skulls -- until the company fails, and then its their fault because they are greedy.

What hypocrisy.

The teamsters was okay with the new contract.........the bakers union said no.

Now, 18,000 people are getting 100% cut in pay instead of 8%.

Troll show me where the leaders got raises and bonus'...I want to see that.  PROOF please.

Here we go again Brain Boy, why don't you prove that I lied.   It's has been on television and on the internet.  You do the work and prove to me I am wrong.  You want to bet $50 I am wrong.      I would think that you would believe that you had a sure thing.  :rotfl:  I know you won't believe this.  If you had taken all of my bet in the past, I would have won all of them.  $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

Gregory F. Rayburn, a restructuring expert who took the helm at Hostess last month, said in an interview that the top four executives working under him had agreed to cut their annual salaries to $1 until the company emerges from bankruptcy or Dec. 31, whichever comes first.

. . .

What you aren't saying in this statement?

You fail to mention the 10% cut across the board the workers took in the LAST bankruptcy within the last 2 years. And the elimination of raises since.
You fail to mention the total elimination of pension funding, which froze current pension levels and eliminated them entirely for those with less than 10 years with the company.
You failed to mention the drastic increase in health care premiums combined with a decrease in coverage.

And there is plenty more where that came from.

How do I know? My BIL has worked for them for decades and even though he is within 5 years of retirement he is gong to have to TRY to find work now. . .

and you failed to mention that In exchange of pension reductions and HC, the company offered concessions, including a 25% equity stake for workers and the inclusion of two union representatives on an eight-member board of directors.

The teamsters said yes, the bakers unions said NO...

and now, 18,000 are out.

One mis-statement in my previous post. The workers took a 10% wage reduction in 2004, 8 years ago, with no raises since.

As if a 25% stake in a company that has been insolvent for at minimum the last 10 years, represents any type of compensation toward retirement. That is a risk that is worse than the 401k scam most fortune 500 companies are now forcing upon their workforces surrounding retirement. . .
