That is a shame about the insurance company. We have Indiana Insurance through Lon Brown and have been pleased with them, I don't know if they have a thing with dogs wince we have been wih them so long (40+ years) the question has never come up. We had All state and they cancelled our homeowners and told us it was because the neighbor lady said we didn't keep our yard mowed well enough.

We had Meridian Mutual insurance on our two cars, the house, the boat and the RV trailer and a $1 million liability policy for my plumbing business.  Paying them many dollars over the years.  $$$$$$$$$$$$

I never had a claim until a woman jumped out of my boat in the parking lot of the RV park were had the boat and trailer.  She hurt leg and they pay some of the hospital bill.  That same year I hit a hidden submerged rock and damaged my lower unit on my boat motor and they had to pay off.  They dropped our boat insurance. :titanic:   We haven't had another claim since the last ones.  Knock on wood.

Never to forget a good turn.  We dropped all of our insurance with them and we save over $600 a year on the same insurance with another company.  I say thanks Meridian Mutual.  :yeah: Damn, they really hurt us.

Anne, we use to feel like you that if you stay with an insurance company a long time they will treat you like an old and valued customer.  NOT SO!  We had been with Meridian Mutual for years because they were the lowest we could find at that time.  But they treated us just like everybody else.  If you  have never heard of premium rate creep it is live and well in the insurance business.

Why don't you find some insurance companies you have heard good things about and have they work up a price for you, A Quote and bundle everything you have in one policy.  I think you will be surprise how much money you can save.  Plus it won't cost you one dollar for the quote.  All you have to do is fill out a form of what you want and they will do all of the work and give you a quote.  It's easy and it's saving.

You can believe me and my wife on this.  We change companies last year and we save big bucks $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ and we did it with a insurance broker right here in town.  This time we are going to watch closer and it they raise the premiums we're going to look of a new broker again.

When you really look at it the agent doesn't have any more power than you.  They might know someone who might open a door for you.  But when it get down to the dirty nitty gritty it's between you and your attorney and the insurance company if the company wants to play hardball.

What is wrong with this?  It's the whole damn country.  It's the lawyers and the legal system.  Anything that smelly, illegal, costly, and wrapped up in red tape, it is the lawyers.  Just look at the present U.S. Supreme Court.  Rotten and crooked.

I feel like I was born in the USA, and now reside in a communist third-world country.

I can't use tobacco, I can't carry a firearm, or even own one in some locations, I can't own a dog larger than 30 pounds, and that dog cannot be of a certain pedigree, I can't drink in public, and can't purchase beer on Sundays. My vehicles cannot be any louder than "x" decibels, even when exceeding that threshold of sound assures my safety. I cannot purchase health insurance except for some astronomical premiums, and then I still have to pay for my own blood tests and diagnostic testing until I reach my $2,500 dollar annual deductible. And even then they only pay 80%. I cannot have any outbuildings on the property I supposedly own, and it better not have any weeds growing, or that's another violation. I cannot smoke pot, I cannot set a tent up in my own back yard, and I cannot drive upon certain roads without paying a fee for every 10 miles of travel. I CAN vote, but doing so these days is akin to farting in a tornado, and just as effective. I cannot carry certain types of key fobs into the courthouse or onto a plane, because doing so makes security scream "he's got a knife" at the top of their lungs. Doesn't matter if the "knife" is smaller than a weasels dick and about as sharp, and includes a tooth pick and miniature pair of scissors with it. . .

I cannot carry any type of lotion or aftershaves onto a plane, unless they are in sealed containers and unopened. If I do, they will be confiscated and thrown away. I cannot even carry an aspirin onto a plane unless it is in the bottle it came from the manufacturer in. I cannot complain about the full body cavity search, x-rays, sniffers, and body groping; lest I be detained and subjected to hours of questioning; and being labeled a potential threat and placed onto a no fly list nationwide. And, if  weigh over "x" number of pounds I cannot fly anyway.

Now, even if I wanted to,(which I do NOT), I could not smoke pot within the confines of my own home, lest the cops kick in the door and catch me rolling a fatty, and subject me to a felony conviction. In fact, if I give the security guards at the airport any lip, I can be convicted of a felony.

In the old days, if I didn't like you, I could hawk up a nice luggie and spit it at you. Today that will get me a felony conviction, or killed by the person I spat upon. (Who would get off because my spitting on him would be classified as a biological attack.)

I cannot retire because the thieves rule the corporations, who own the legislature, and who also owns the SCOTUS. If my dog bites your ass because you were teasing him, I can be convicted of a felony. Picking my nose and wiping it on your shirt sleeve can get me convicted of a felony.

Now my insurance companies can tell me what medicines I need and don't need, what treatments I can and cannot have, and make me pay them for it. I thought that was why I paid my doctors? Maybe I don't need a doctor?

Our original agent was Bob Rozelle's father, we bought the insurance on our first car in 1964 from him and then later Bob was our agent after his father retired. Bob sold the business to Lon Brown when he became ill. We have had several claims and our rates have not gone up much except when we had two teenagers driving. They actually went down when the kids left! We had quite a bit of damage in the hail storm in 2000, a small fire one time, a robbery and a couple minor things with the cars, usually windshields. I get quotes from other companies every 5 or 6 years but none are much cheaper. I expect our auto rates to go up as we get older.

TEA PARTY.

That is EXACTLY the kind of bullshit that is drawing crowd to these events..........if you don't believe me.....go to one sometime.  Don't believe what the media is portraying this group to be.  PH, I am sick to death of exactly everything you stated.  If you look closely, most of them are LIBERAL driven laws....not all of them, some are relgious RIGHT.
I just want some common sense brought back to our lives................many, many of the folks that attend these parties are seeking this.  Many of the things you talked about should have never happened....and IF, enough people start bitching loud enough, THINGS CAN change.  The Tea Party is a good example.  You may not agree with them, but they have made a difference in the political world.

I will not subject my animal to any kind of rescue organization. If he cannot remain with me and his "pack", I will put him down.

Not necessary; there are still insurance companies without breed specific exclusions.  Google "pit bull homeowners insurance" for some options.  There is no AKC recognized breed of pit bull; you should list give his breed as American Staffordshire Terrier...same dog.

You got to be shitting us.  THE TEA PARTY?  What a group of assholes.  The first thing they would want to do is take a woman rights away.  So she can't have an abortion.  They're the people who want to stop smoking everywhere.  They are the ones who would make prayer in school and bible study an required subject in every school.  They're the ones who would make the rest of us to bow down and kiss the ring of Christian leaders in a Christian American, only one religion.

They're the ones who would bring back Prohibition.  Killing or imprisonment of homosexuals.  If you want the bad old day back where the religious leaders burn people at the stake, dunked people mainly women to death for being a witch and made life miserable.

Just put the narrow nosed, pinched lipped Tea Party in power.   If you don't believe me just look at the states where the Teaparty/Republican have taken over the states, Indiana, Wisconsin, New Jersy and so on and the first thing they do is take the working man and woman's right to have a union and make abortions harder to get and cut money from schools, cut money to school lunches and cut money to help the old people.  Cut tax for the rich and corporations and raise the common people taxes.  My "your god" they're such good people. :puke:

I would be willing to bare arms against morons like the Tea Party.  SO HELP ME, "your god". :4th3:

You are overdramatizing EVERYTHING...you should be writing soap oprahs!!!  ;D   The people are voting for common sense....The Teachers in Wisconsin brought on the mess up there...............all they had to do was pitch in and pay for a tad more on their insurance like the rest of the working world....but they got cocky and pushed the envelope....the people spoke!

Indiana is one of the few states right now that have optimistic veiws by it's business' to have postive growth in the next few months.
