Nobody living here in Indiana working for minimum wage working 39 hours a week can't afford an apartment either or a car to drive to work.

Troll you bring up a very good point. In SD there is lots of regular public transportation, the trolley, busses, van pools, etc.  It's fairly inexpensive and many companies offer either a transportation pass or subsidy for it. Even if they didn't a monthly pass is fairly cheap. Where I lived before I moved to California, didn't have any worthwhile public transportation. To get a job there, even a min. wage job, you're screwed without a car.

I used to help at a homeless outreach back there and the primary need was to help the working poor. As long as the kids are working, I will help them too and someday, they won't need my help.

You know it seems the minimum jobs are not the easy ones or the cleanest one.  But I think everyone who happens to live in the in the United States of America should be able to have some kind of a roof over their head that is fit for human habitation and all so have enough to eat.

I am talking about the good poor who works for for a living.  Not the free loaders.  You don't seen to not want to even take care of the people who will work.  Is that what you think.  Are they all to starve and live in squalor.  Clean the shitters, the floors, the gutters, sewers also the ones who serve us our food and cook in the restaurants and have no where to hang their hats.  Or like they use to say, so poor that they can't even afford a pot or a window to throw is out.  Just like the old days in England.  They threw their shit and piss out the front window into the street.  Great time to live.  It sound like you want to go back to those days.  Right?
What you don't seem to understand is places like restaurants can't pay like a factory and neither can a dept store or grocery store without charging more for what they sell.  Hence the more they pay the more they charge and the higher the cost of living is so it becomes an endless cycle.  I have worked the types of jobs you're talking about and I have also worked in an office and made good money and I'd take the restaurant or shitter cleaner jobs any day over that type of job.  You say that as though it's demeaning to work that type of job and it isn't.  I'm sorry but no skill jobs just aren't worth anymore than they already pay and someone has to do them.  I felt that way when I was one of the people doing them and I still feel that way.  BTW that was before welfare, food stamps, and the gimmies which are available now.

Tell why you should get a break on clothing, products, food, service at the expense of someones living conditions.  We all need those people to keep up our high living.  So we don't have to do those demeaning jobs.  I'm to big for such menial work.  You would say.  Right?

It's just like I won't use a self serve check out.  It's taking someones job.  I'll bet you don't give much of a tip to these people who serve you.  Why should I give her any more money you would say, she getting paid.  All she did was bring me my food, refilled my water, tea or soft drink and gave me a smile.

But I guess some people like to look down on people.  Just because they haven't been to college, have a high IQ and maybe a mentally retarded.  I earned my money and why should I give to someone lower class than :me: Right?

I haven't been to college either and yes, I tip good because I know what it's like to be on that side of it.  I don't look down on anyone because you meet the same people on the way down you meet on the way up.  As a matter of fact I'd rather associate with someone like you're referring to because I can be myself and don't have to put on airs to please them because they are real people and not full of themselves.  You didn't even absorb what I wrote in that post you replied to did you?  Or did you even bother to read it?

Oh I read it, I read all of you self absorbed trash.  How you trash the poor, how you trash the unions, how there it a group of people at the bottom of the  pile who don't deserve anything.  You would have made a good Nazi guard at the death camps, when they are to sick and tired to work, burn them.

I really don't know where you come from or where you get your visions of grandeur.   I don't like your politic or the way you demean the lest blessed people in this country.  But then there around 33% of the voters here in America who think just like you and I call them hardcore asshole Republicans.  Heil Hitler.  :salute: :me: :azz:

Pretty telling when the local "rag" finds the suicide threat of a totally stupendous teen mother who "represents the local populace" in the media, as more headline worthy than the fact the quickly dwindling possibility of hosting a Colts training camp and its possible financial implications to this nose diving local economy!

However, the Indystar sees the real story. . .(Even if it isn't a headline for Indpls).

. . .The fans spent money, too, about $6.5 million by city officials' reckoning.. . .

Seriously though! It goes right back to that "victim" role the long term residents of this area seem to be addicted to. It permeates the very air you breathe in this city!

They elect people who share the victim perspective, as mayor, then wonder why things never get any better in this city? Come on!

They need to get rid of the Wigwam; tear it down or sell it!

Here's another example of city government over-reaching its means:

Apparently the city of Carmel is going to have to pony up MORE money in order to keep its new entertainment/arts venue, "The Palladium" . . . about 4 million more. . .

Carmel spent 175 million (+) of taxpayer money to build this white elephant, and they have had to subsidize it its first two years, to the tune of 1 million last year, and now they are saying they need 4 million more this year?

The venue averages a 93% sell out rate and they STILL need more money????

Another Yuppie visions of grandeur.  I have heard if you wanted to give Indiana enema  you would stick it in Carmel and then Greenwood, Carmel South.

Another vision of grandeur.   Mayor of Chicago Daily sold the parking meters to a private business for $1.3 Billion cash for 75 years.  People have woke up to this con-game and found that this business has raised the parking rates, in some places $5 per hour.  Also if the city wants to have a street party, the city has pay this company for lost revenue.

The people who are try to bring this rape of the city to an end say, this company is going to make over $10 Billion on their investment of $1.3 billion.

Tomorrow night on Dylan Radigan show on MSNBC at 4:00 PM will high light the Mitch Daniels selling of the Indiana Toll Road.   Set your Tevo's to find how bad the Republican Party of Indiana has screwed it's taxpayers.
