Me too! It hit me about 3 this morning and kept me awake. I finally popped some Aleve and that cured it.

So, as I mentioned in another thread, Faux was locked on a TV at the gym. The captions were on and I watched a portion of Glen Beck's "History" program and then the "breaking news".

Breaking News was a story about whether or not Obama is a Muslim or not. WTF? Seriously? That's not breaking news, it's not even news. Who cares?!? Oh, but they were "fair and balanced" because they inserted a couple comments from unknown people about how he goes to a Christian Church and receives daily devotionals in his e-mail. However these comments were immediately followed by some other character who made a snide comment in reference to one of the film clips which caught Obama eating a cup of ice cream. Apparently, based on the commenter's tone,  that's proof that he's unconcerned. How could he be eating ice cream?!? The President has NO right taking 10 minutes to enjoy ice cream. Is ice cream even American? I think Muslims enjoy ice cream. Isn't that a Ramadan treat?

It was SO editorial that it was sickening. That "story" had NO business in anything labeled "breaking news" if the news source is a serious news source. Sadly, the people who watch that channel don't know the difference between real news and what Faux does.

I guess that's why I'm so sad. Before seeing it with my own eyes I lived with a pleasant kind of naivety which allowed  me to enjoy a belief that everyone is aware of Faux's tabloid take on current events and so no one is really falling victim to their nonsense. I've been robbed of that innocence. ;D

Every once in a while in your career, you run across someone who you just develop a ton of respect for. One of those people for me was a man named Bob Kimmet.

Bob was a retired Navy Vet who was living his life alone after the passing of his wife. When I met him he was about 70 years old and working for me. He and I had a lot of similar interests and I frequently spent lunch periods chewing the fat with the man. He came to work every single day, never missed a day and was never late. And when he was at work he really worked. He would be the last person you would ever see doing nothing. If his job assignment was finished you could always find him helping someone else, or doing something else that needed doing without having to be asked to do it.

He was one of the individuals I looked forward to giving periodic reviews to, because he was honest and knew how to take constructive criticism, (not that I ever had to give him a single bit of it), and because once we got the formalities out of the way we'd spend the rest of the time period talking about just about anything.

Bob worked until just about his 83rd birthday, and he finally retired for good. I was shocked to learn today that Bob had passed away a couple of months ago! Much as I would expect from him, he died working. He fell off his roof while trying to repair it.

I'm pissed that I didn't know of his passing until today! (Which is why this is in the vent topic). I would have attended his services had I known.

Get some rest Bob! I miss you and this world is a lesser place for having lost you, but a better place for having known you!

Dammit! I had two dozen of the recalled eggs in the fridge and had to take them back. They wanted me to just exchange them for new and I told them no friggin' way! I had salmonella once and it is not a joke!  I would not even wish that on a republican!
