So, will the new injectors be better suited to the modern fuel, or will you still need to upgrade the filtration?

Good news BTW

Well, based upon the information I have received, what is going into it is the same thing it had, with the same flaws. Bosch owns the patent on the injector design and will not license anyone to manufacture anything for it. Or GM will not depending upon who you listen to. . . Why they will not allow a modification to be done to the replacements is a mystery to me and everyone else.

I also understand that despite the use of secondary filtration system and lubricity additives, the injectors still fail fairly regularly; with some experiencing second and third failures despite using both steps, within 35k - 75k miles or so.

What I have done is procured the procedure for replacing them myself, which will probably take me 10-12 hours to do the first time around and if everything goes smoothly. More than likely it will be 2 - 3 days. . .

The problem with the LB7 engines were addressed in the later generation designs, so why GM/Bosch will not allow someone else to re-engineer the injector design to remediate the problem is probably connected with after market profits and sales. . .

Could it be that if they admit theY had a "Charley Foxtrot" or in Engish a cluster fu*k  on the injectors, it would open them up to law suits and cost themy some MONEY!

BINGO!!! We have a winner.  Yes, more likely than not, you have hit the nail on the head.  To admit a problem would be admitting fault.  It's probably cheaper to replace them case by case than have a massive recall.

Just picked up my truck and the bill came to: $0.00!

New set of injectors, oil change, oil and fuel filter change, and coolant change!

Runs and starts like a brand new truck!  I slipped the service mgr a nice tip for taking care of me!

I will go to Ed Martin for all my service needs and for my next new vehicle purchase as well!

Yes sir, those service manager can be sorta like an angel, but most are pure hell and oooh my god, how they can lie.  Most of them, I wouldn't trust as far as I can throw my F250 Super Duty.

What I would like to see is the Geico's gecko park his little car in his parking place and  the General place the front tire on top of the Gecko's car with him in it.  It would be like. Want to see a frog do 6o?  Put him in a blender.
