People should be requierd to pass a test before they are allowed to vote.
Arguing with Christians is like playing chess with a pigeon.  No matter how good I am at chess, the pigeon is just going to knock over the pieces, shit on the board and strut around like it's victorious.

The truth is slow, but relentless. Over time it becomes irresistible.

I"ll go along with that. Just exactly what would be on the test and who would administer it? Maybe we should limit it to property owners. No, I think they did that and decided it was illegal. Well, I'm sure we can think up some things. How about being able to read, can't do that either. Maybe they should publish booklets for everyone to study before voting. Of course that means someone would have to write the thing, without bias toward one particular party of the other, and they would have to written in probably 50 different languages, delivered free to everyone...... Gets more complicated by the minute, doesn't it?  :icon_evil:

How about an objective test on American government?

If our politicians were held to the scrutiny of how the system is intended to work, because people passing the test would obviously know, then perhpas they'd work harder to ensure that it does.

Geez, I'd be happy if people realized that there are more than two parties and took a look at what those candidates have to offer. If they'd spend time to do a little research and found one they were comfortable with and actually voted for that person, then we could send a message that would make the Democrats and Republicans both step up.

Of course, I think the other parties should be allowed in the major debates also.

I think both parties are afraid of that and that's why it probably won't happen.

That might work, except yopu still have the language thing, the testing thing, the reading. Elections would take 2 years.

A vote is nothing more than an official opinion.

'Course it is one place where the very foolish opinion and the wise, informed opinion weigh exactly the same.

Ain't that a scarrrrrrryyyyy thought?

If ya need gas ya better get it quick.  Hubby went to fill up the car and it's gone up 23 cents since yesterday and is going up again.  There was a guy in there telling the girl to lock the doors and change it quick when the next price change comes in which was to be soon.

My truck is in the shop, so I can't. . .

Lately I have been experiencing a condition with my truck known as "hard start". I took it to Ed Martin this morning, but I am fairly certain I know what the hell it is. . . the injectors!  :spooked: Cold starting is no problem for the truck, but once it reaches operating temperature it is hard as hell to start!

GM extended the warranty on the injectors to 200,000 miles or 7 years, whichever comes first, because of the cracked injector bodies and other problems associated with the injectors. My truck has 107,000 miles on it and has run like a champ to this point. Now I am sweating though.

The dealership was on the phone with GM when I went back a little while ago. They are not sure what to do. (My truck passed the 7 year mark just 5 days ago).

Lets see where GM falls. . .

Make that 3 days ago, I just checked. . . But from the call I just got I am hopeful!  (I made the appointment well before that).

GM now suspects it is indeed the injectors and the tech is running the protocol of tests to confirm it. . .  :icon_evil: :icon_evil: :icon_evil: If it is they will have to replace all 8 of them, and the typical bill is 5-6K for that!  :spooked: :spooked: :spooked:
