Well. . . I wrote a letter to the local rag and they said they were going to publish it. I am still waiting for that to happen, but I wrote it.

Just do a little "free writing" and see what crops up!

My grandson came home on leave from the Navy from Cal and I forget which airlines my daughter said he flew in on but his luggage was checked in free since he was in the Military.  Well, yesterday he flew back on Northwest, which is also part of Delta, and they charged him $20, if he had been flying with orders it would have been free, plus wanted to charge him $90 for his one bag because it was 8lbs overweight.  $90 for 8lbs......  Now he could put the extra 8lbs in another bag and be just fine?   He took a few things out and managed to get them into his brief case which he carried on and my daughter brought a couple of things home with her to mail to him. He has vowed to never fly Northwest again and I don't blame him.  For those of you who fly regularly have the airlines really gotten that bad?

I don't fly regularly, but I do read things, and hear about it on the news programs...things have gotten that bad.
Looks like I've come full circle.

Guess I need to quit watching movies and music DVD's and start watching the news a little more huh?

Just the morning news.  I've not been watching much lately, but as a rule, I usually put 13 on in the morning, and all that stuff at some time or another is on the Today show.  After that's over, the movies and music come out. LOL

They all suck, but better off with Southwest; no bag charges, more non-stops to many cities and prompt/friendly service.  All one class on their planes, but what do you get with United/TED flights?  All one class, but in a bigger plane.  What do you get on Delta?  A Regional Jet (sardine can) with one class.

Bags fly free on Southwest - everybody else charges for them.

I failed to also mention that SW is usually 25 - 50 percent cheaper than the others, as well.  Better service at a lower price.

$90 for 8lbs still sounds ridiculous.

I almost always use Delta.  Just because I am used to them and after a while the terminals become a little more familiar.  Except Atlanta, which is Hell.  I saw the ad for Southwest, but I dont think they go everywhere I go.

I'm really glad you don't go to Hell very often.

My wife gives me a little bit of it every so often -- whenever she thinks I need it.

I'm thinking about applying for a membership.

If you plan to continue to offer your perspective in political threads, that would be wonderful for the rest of us!

I know; it's not even cost effective to steal towels from the hotel any more!
