Dexter I probably would have told that lady that she could have a pot pie right now but she wasn't going to like it!  ;D

I used to work in fast food so I know exactly what you're talking about.  It really gets old....
Extremely old.

Customer service is one of the most difficult high paced fast thinking and underpaid jobs available. When you're in customer service you have to be on your toes and ready for any type of personality walking through the door and personalities are like finger prints...no two are alike.  You see the true side of and often human nature. The plus side is that you develop a lot of skills that can be used elsewhere by being able to deal effectively with that type of demand. You also get to help a lot of nice people and that's what makes the job worth it.

Just handle the job with smile, when at all possible, you never know who's paying attention.

I know, while you are waiting for the chicken wings to arrive, you guys can be like the people at Moe's.  Instead of yelling "WELCOME TO MOE'S!" as they walk in the door you can yell "WE AIN'T GOT NO CHICKEN WINGS!"  hahahahahahahahah :rotfl:

We got some on the delivery truck today Thank God!!!  :sofa: Now, we have other issues to deal with. The law just went in to effect, on the no smoking in public thing.  Apparently, if someone is smoking in their car, when they're at the drive thru window, we have to tell them they can't smoke.  :spooked: I disagree on this particular law. I don't smoke. If somebody wants to have a cigarette in their own car, I think they should be able to do it. JMO. If we get caught, letting people smoke in the drive thru, the store can be held liable, for disregarding the law.  The store can get fined, or have charges leveled against them. Everything is sooo out of control, next we'll be getting fined, or charged for the air we breathe.

You have got to be kidding.  You mean if I'm driving through Illinois I can't smoke in my own car?

We did. Obviously, somebody didn't pay attention, or something. Hell, we had a sign on the door, stating we were out of Hot Wings, and people disregarded it completely.  This is a newer law, so it will take time, for people to get used to it.

Actually, it is an Illinois state law that says  you can't smoke within 15 feet of a public building.  When you pull into a drive thru, your closer than 15 feet from the building. I think it's a moronic law.

Yes but you shouldn't have to be the ones enforcing it.  If the state wanted the law so badly then they need to hire the smoking police and leave you to fight with people about hot wings!

Sorry, but I don't think it's a stupid law at all. Why should your health be jeopardized w/secondhand smoke? I'm sure KFC isn't going to pay workman's comp if you come down w/lung cancer (or other cancer). I like the rule about being a certain distance from a building too. I hate walking out the door and right into a cloud of smoke. If someone is standing near the building smoking, I can avoid him/her and I don't mind that - so I'm not talking about taking away smoker's rights at all, but I can't really avoid them if I have to go through the door.

California has a new law (at least I think it's the entire state) which outlaws smoking in a car w/a child. I LOVE IT! I don't smoke, but I don't want my kids traveling in a car where they're trapped in w/the smoke if they happen to be with someone who smokes.
