It cost me just as much in filling up to drive to PA than it would have flying and having a cocktail or two along the way!  I will not drive again unless absolutly necessary!  :rant:

Why the hell do we have to have sooo much snow this year?  :mad: I'm sooo tired of it I could scream.  :gha: We just keep getting hit. This is the 5 th straight weekend we've had a snow storm in a row. Damn, we need a break!!!!  :mad: I tried to go to work, but I had to come home because the roads were horrible. Then one of my cats was standing in the middle of the road, and staring around stupidly at the Corolla barreling towards it, and I almost ditched the Corolla trying not to hit it. Jesum Crow!!!  :mad: It never ends.  :rolleyes:

NEW YORK (CNNMoney.com) -- Oil prices kicked off the first trading day of 2008 by hitting a new high of $100 a barrel Wednesday on violence in oil-rich Nigeria, the prospect of more interest rate cuts, a halt in Mexican imports and the expectation of yet another drop in U.S. crude supplies.

I read over the holiday yesterday that gas prices could hit $3.75/gallon by the summer.  That would place the cost of a fill up right at $100 for me.  :mad:

So do you think this is going to hurt the tourism industry enough for them to make a stink and they get a handle on the prices again?  I mean it takes me an hour and a half to get to the beach but for that much in gas, I'll stick to the local pool!

I think it will greatly alter peoples travel plans for the Summer. If I remember right, I think they felt the pinch last year. Will it hurt the gas companies? I don't know. I think if enough people refrain from taking long trips, it will have to have an ill effect eventually. I think it will greatly effect tourism. If people don't travel because of fuel prices, it hurts everybody IMO.
