What are you drinking?

I am having a distilled water with ice cubes made from distilled water. Not too sexy, but the purity of the drink is what I love.

And seem a saint, when most I play the devil.

I'm having an icy cold Corona.  :food4:

There are always lushes in this crowd. LOL

Coffee, always coffee. I can't be a lush, it's not allowed. :(
Looks like I've come full circle.

Only cream if it is flavored.  I'm partial to Irish Creme, Amaretto, Chocolate, or Chocolate Mint Truffle. :) Otherwise, black with sugar. (none of that artificial sweetener)

Alka Seltzer cold plus, again.  I kept waking up during the night.  I'm going to take it and try to get more rest.  (moan)

Cuppa decaffeinated white tea.

I gave up caffeine months ago and because I was truly addicted to coffee, I can't stand the taste of decaf so I've been replacing it w/tea on chilly mornings/nights.

I miss coffee. I was the "lets chug a homemade triple expresso with my coffee" guy in the mornings on my way to get a cappuccino so I could get to the shop and start a pot of coffee. With all that caffeine and the stress of running the businesses I had blood pressure high enough to turn Hoover Dam's turbine electricity generators.

So I quit cold turkey and went through withdraws and took up drinking green tea. Green tea cured me of ever wanting to drink anything hot in a cup ever again. YACK!!

I am drinking nothing at the moment but will be going out to the kitchen in a minute for some iced green tea with honey.
Take time to smell the roses.

I don't think my blood pressure ever rose. But I'm betting it had a lot to do with my extreme weight loss.  Between the stress and the caffeine, I hardly ate anything.  I'm glad that is in the past.  I've finally come to terms with the divorce and even though I still stress, I calm it down pretty quick by reminding myself that there is nothing more I can do about these situations until the time is right.  Everything is going along as it should and there is no reason to stress because it isn't happening faster.

Hows the humidity level in your home? If you don't have a humidifier try boiling a big pot of water with a fan near it. I find colds are sinus based and sinus problems stem from dry sinuses and that happens because the air is way too dry. Wintertime means people turn on their heat and that dries the air out badly. Some kinds of heat are worse than others. Electric baseboard heat was the worse I ever ran into for making the air dry fast.

More about the sinuses, when they dry, they crack and that delicate tissue opens up and bleeds, or just opens up. Then you have germs zooming up your nose as you breathe and landing on those open membranes. And SHAZAM...you have a cold that fast.

not only that, but your nose gets scabs inside.....and you always feel like you need to be blowing your nose, AND it hurts. :(

How I do Orange Juice.

Tall glass of crushed ice or ice cubes.
Equal parts OJ & 7Up (diet) or Sprite (diet)
Splash of Grenadine
Straw or Mixer Stick

I imagine a club soda would work as well if one wanted it dryer tasting as far as sweet. The grenadine gives it interesting color and sets the taste buds off if it's not over done. Crushed ice for a colder drink that allows the drinker to enjoy small to medium ice particles to go down with the liquid.

If you don't have an ice crusher, wrap some ice in a clean bar towel, or hand towel and beat vigorously with a hammer against a solid surface such as the counter or bar. Smash until no large chunks can be felt. This produces finely crushed ice that almost resembles snow that when used in a cocktail produces a "slush" effect.

This reminds me of a cocktail I used to mix and it seems like it was popular, but its been about 15 years since I slung drinks across a bar. Described above is a non-alcoholic drink you can order up in about any bar. You will look like you are having a cocktail and not look like the deadbeat non-drinker having a can of pop. Not to mention, it's refreshing and the OJ is good for you.

I make them at home sans the grenadine, I eschew the liquor sections of the stores which is where I would find it.
