Man, the temperature just dropped to 67*. That storm blowing through really cooled things off. :spooked: I think it's gonna be a rough night. We've still got a bunch of storms headed our way by the looks of the radar. Thank God I don't have work tomorrow, I probably wont get much sleep tonight. I just heard we could get up to 3 inches of rain between now and tomorrow night.  :spooked: That's all we need.  The fields are gonna be toast. The corn is about 5 inches tall here. Between the high winds and floods, it will probably be a total loss.  I feel sorry for the farmers that have worked sooo hard.  :'(
I noticed some of the fields around here didn't even get planted yet and I think its a little late now.

Wow!!! It probably is too late. I wonder if that has anything to do with the high price of fertilizer? Fertilizer has oil in it. I heard they're getting extremely high prices out of it this year. It's pretty bad when the farmers can't afford to plant their fields.

Most of the ones I've noticed unplanted and, in most cases not even plowed, are in low lying areas where I don't think they ever got dry enough to be able to work.

There are a lot of fields that were planted under a foot or more of water right now. I saw one today with little stalks of corn peaking up through the few unsubmerged spots I could see from my vantage point; astride my steel horse going about 50 mph. . .

There is no deficit of water in the aquifer now that much is for sure, with some areas getting as much as 11 inches of rain from this last wave of wind, rain, and lightening. I'm watching the radar right now and this "slow moving system" that was expected to reorganize and pay us a visit late this afternoon, has already reorganized and appears to be picking up steam. It is already in Illinois and I am hoping it stays there until after 7:45 AM this morning; or it is going to be a very long ride home!  :spooked:

It was pouring down rain when I woke up this morning. Now the sun is trying its hardest to peek through the clouds. Right now, it's 11:30 am, and the temperature is a cool 69*. We have a chance of rain for today, but hopefully we wont get anymore.

Man, it's hot there!!!  :spooked: Right now, it's 4:06 pm, and the temperature is still a cool 69*. The sun never really did come out today. It's dreary and overcast. The forecast is calling for showers through the night tonight. It doesn't look like we have severe weather coming in. That's good, because I don't need a repeat of last night's catastrophe.

We just had a storm roll through and drop the temp to 79 in a quick hurry.  The lights flickered a few times but never went out thank goodness.  Unless it stays south of us we might be in for another one shortly... :-\

Right now, it's 8:08pm ,and the temperature is 67*. It looks like a storm could bust loose at any time. The forecast said we could get more rain tonight, but there aren't any storms being predicted. Of course storms can come up outta nowhere.  I hope we don't get anymore though.

I started a thread about it so others who may not check this thread can see it.

We run for cover when we see clouds like that here.

Fortunately, most of the waterspouts here in South Florida remain just that.  Waterspouts.  They rarely come ashore.

It was a beautiful day here. Sunny, warm and windy. Right now, it's 10:14 pm, and the temperature is a balmy 72*. We're suppose to have more of the same tomorrow. Thursday and Friday we have rain coming in... just what we need... more rain.
