It seems Winter is just around the corner. Here in Illinois tonight ,we have a high wind advisory in effect. Right now, the wind is blowing at 35 mphs, with gusts of up to 45 mphs. The temperature is 43* and feels like 23*. The low here tonight is supposed to be 22*. The weather man is predicting snow for our area, a week from tommorrow.  :spooked: I hope he's wrong on that one. I'm not ready for that at all.  What's the weather like in your neck of the woods?

Probably the worst thing for me, is not being able to get all of my cats closed up in the shed.  :spooked: We installed a space heater in it this year, and it's a balmy 70* in there. Some of my outside cats are wild strays, and I can't coax them in. It bothers the hell out of me that they're out in the cold. Mostly they sleep under the deck, but in the shed would be much warmer for them. Stuff like that really bothers me. It reminds me of the first Winter we were here. That was just an old tin shed when we moved here. We put walls, and insulation in it a little over a year ago. That first Winter, one of my favorite outside cats froze to death, because the other cats didn't like him, and wouldn't let him in the shed that night. It was Christmas night, and I found him frozen a few feet from the shed the next morning. The night before he was crying at the back door, and I wouldn't let him in,because he was an outside cat. Boy, you talk about guilt, and I was completely devastated. We were soo shocked!!!! When I saw him laying there, I foolishly thought he was asleep,as I got closer,I kept calling his name, and the dread came over me. I turned around, and ran screaming into the house ''Jody is dead",I ran back out there ,and flung myself on the ground, and picked him up, and he was frozen solid.  :spooked: That was one of the many worst days of my life. That's why we insulated that shed, and put the space heater in it. Before that, I would go out there several times a night, to make sure they weren't freezing to death. I hate Winter.

Currently in Fort Lauderdale it is mostly cloudy and 73 degrees.  Relative humidity is 63%, and the winds are out of the north at 5 mph.

If we did you'd be getting the bad end of the stick.  It could be worse, I heard that they're predicting snow for my area next week. Burrrr.....  :cold:

I sometimes think about moving to Bradenton where a friend of ours lives.  Then I talk to her in the summer and change my mind real quick.

We are FINALLY getting some autumnish weather here--it's currently 32 outside but it is 2:30 in the am.  High today is supposed to be 60.

I love it--grew up a snow bunny and we haven't had snow here since 1995  :(

After a long, long summer of near 100 degree temps--I'm ready for some cool weather--my hot flashes appreciate it too!

Wish we'd get some rain, though.  The drought has really hammered us here in the Southeast  :-\
If you don't have anything nice to say then come over here and sit by me!
