I truly believe I've got the best husband on earth.  Today, he spent a half an hour, calling around for information, on getting a new stove for me. He is also planning on putting a space heater, in my cat barn, so the cats won't be cold this winter. It's going to run off of natural gas cylinders, which are quite expensive to run. Probably $ 80 or more a month. He would do, or pay for anything my cats need. I don't know any man, that would do, and pay for the things my husband does. He really is one of a kind.  I'm soo happy that we met, and there is nobody else, I would want to spend my life with. We truly are soul mates. Every night, I pray that when our time comes, we die together, because I'm not sure, we could make it without each other. I truly am the luckiest girl in the world.   :smitten:

He just doesn't want you to leave him and turn into the strange cat lady down the street!

Kidding!

I want to be able to brag about my husband some day!  Wiccy, I keep meditating on it.  So far so good!
Take time to smell the roses.

Well, I hate to break it to ya Dex but I have got the best hubby in the world!!

Why, do you ask?

Because he DESPISES cats, yet he helped me give my baby a bath the other night wearing his welder gloves so the cat wouldn't Freddie Kruger him.

Kitty has been sooooooooooo flea infested--no matter what I do!  So I decided the best thing to do was to bathe him  (his second bath in 5 years--hey--he's a country cat--what can I do?)  in a good flea and tick shampoo and put a super-strong flea and tick collar on him and then dose him with the flea and tick medicine that you put between their shoulder blades and THEN hose him down with flea and tick spray.

Let's just say that kitty is very clean, smells great and is happy as can be.  After the bath he even went up to hubby purring and rubbing on his legs to say, "Thanks, Dad."

:meow:

PS  Your hubby ain't half-bad, either!   :salute:
If you don't have anything nice to say then come over here and sit by me!

My husband doesn't do allot of hands on stuff with the cats, but if I ask him to help me with them, he always does. Last Summer, we had to cut a chunk out of our deck, because a kitten got his leg, all the way to the shoulder, stuck between the slats in the deck. He went out and got the circular saw, and didn't even think twice about cutting the deck. This morning when he came home from work, he woke me up and said " I hate to tell you this, but I found one of the cats dead in the road." I said "ok I'll go get it." He said he had gotten it already. So, we went out and I looked it over and I said "It isn't one of ours." He says"Its got to be." It wasn't one of ours, we think somebody dumped it, and it didn't know to stay off the road.  :'(

People like to drop off unwanted animals in the country for some reason. They did that when I was a kid. At one point, I had a dozen stray dogs. Mom didn't care, because all dogs were outside dogs and eventually, they'd wander off. I think that's about the cruelest thing. Especially with the resources available now, there's no reason for it.

I think, in happy relationships, each person should find ways to show interest in the things their partner is doing. It probably seems like a small thing to them, but the feeling equates to ... "they care about me, because the care about what's important to me." I'm sure both of your husbands brag about you ladies and  how happy you make them too.

If he's bragging about hotflashes then you're right on the money, PIYA--- :rotfl:

I know what you mean about abandoning animals in the country or at dumpster sites.  There is a very popular dump site near my community and myself and these nice people who feed the animals dumped there held a stakeout earlier this spring and caught TWELVE of these buttwipes.

They had to pay $500 fines--Man I love it when the law works in your favor, don't you?  :busted:

I try to be involved in his hobbies as much as I can. He flys r/c helicopters, so we go to fly ins, swap meets, club meetings, and mall shows, when we have time. My hobby is my cats.

Cool!!!! You're like a feline swat team LOL!!! They ought to have to pay. A lady at Walmart told me, she lives out in the country, and one day she heard a vehicle pull up, and got there just in time, to see a truck taking off, in the road was 2 chickens, a cat, a dog, and a pot bellied pig.  :spooked: The guy got away, and she ended up keeping all of them. She said she didn't really need the pig, but it was soo cute, she didn't want to take it to the shelter. Just when you think you've heard everything LOL!!!  :spooked:

I always wanted a pot bellied pig, then I found out how large they can get, so we settled for a guinea pig.

Pot bellied pigs are cool.  I worked at an orchard that had a petting zoo. They had 2 of them, it always amazed me how much, and what they ate. The boss told us to feed them the rotten produce, when we did our daily quality control check. They ate everything, but peppers. They wouldn't touch the peppers. One morning, I had some peaches that were just soft enough that we couldn't sell them, so I was cutting the pits out of them, and my boss says "give them to them whole".  :spooked:  I said "With the pits in them?" She said "yeah". To my amazement they ate the pit and all.  :spooked: Man, that would have to hurt comming out.  :spooked: A friend of mine bought what they thought was a pot bellied pig. They kept it in the house. As it got older it grew in to a full sized regular pig LOL!!! They let it stay in the house. They had 22 dogs, 35 cats, rabbits, a miniature pony, and the pig, all in the house. One night they went out, and the house caught fire.  They were lucky to have that pig, because it freaked out, and crashed through the door, and most of the animals got out. It was pretty chaotic, from what I've heard. People who saw it said, when the pig crashed through the door, it kept on running, and somebody across town got it,and took it back. I can only imagine that pig running aimlessly through town LMAO!!!!  :rotfl: :rotfl:

Oh no! The pig saved the day...

I have a pig story. Growing up on a farm, we were taught not to befriend the animals. Everything there except the dogs, cats, geese, ducks and dairy cow was food. Anyway, we had a female hog w/a piglet die and he was too little to take care of himself, so we became his mother. Mom put him on our enclosed back porch and he became a pet, to me anyway.

He grew really big and mom  put him outside, but he thought he could still come in the house and would take the legs out from under anybody trying to come in through the back. LOL

Anyway, one of my jobs was to feed the animals. I noticed that he hadn't cleaned up his slop for a couple days, so I mentioned it to mom. He had been closer than I thought. Parts of him had been on my plate.  To this day...I don't care for pork. She could have told me, but she thought it was in my best interest to learn the lesson the hard way.

 What a hard lesson to learn. When I was little we had a pet cow, we called him Sambo. We watched Dad load him into the truck one day,and he said he found a home, where he'd have everything his heart desired. A few months later we told our Grandma (Dad's mom) that Dad found a great home for Sambo. She says "Yeah that steak and hamburger you've been eating."  :spooked: She was a very cruel woman. My sister and I cried all the way home. My Mom was soo pissed, she didn't talk to Grandma for months. She didn't have to tell us that, we were little kids. I wouldn't eat meat for a long time after that.
