It wasn't bad. I'd probably watch it again. I'm extremely partial to the original "Halloween'. I read the book many, many, times, before I even watched the original 'Halloween". The original movie was REAL close to the book. That movie series had a major derailment on "Halloween 3 >Season of the Witch". That one went waaaaay off the tracks. It was an OK movie, but after that, it just went downhill. I do give Sherry Moon Zombie a BIG thumbs up on her acting. She really does do pretty good. This character showed her maternal side, and the scene in the movie, where she killed herself was sad. The bad thing about the remake, is the fact that Micheal Myers never killed anybody, before he killed his sister Judith. There was never any sign of problems before that. This is the first time any of his life before her murder was ever portrayed.

You almost make it sound like it was a true crime story.
Looks like I've come full circle.

I really enjoyed it, but only because I did like the original. For me, the Halloweens after the original got increasingly stupid. I didn't enjoy them at all. The story line was gone and it was all about trying to out "gross" the previous movie. The latest one was done more in the vein of the original one, I thought. Plus, I enjoyed the background. I actually almost felt sorry for him.

You do know that Haddonfield is an actual town in Illinois right? The Friday the 13th, and Nightmare on Elm Street movies ,did the exact same thing. It just got completely ridiculous, when they did Freddy vs Jason.

The sequels were pretty lame--isn't that true of most movies, though?  I really loved Donald Pleasence as Dr. Sam Loomis and, the Halloween musical theme, of course

I can't remember which sequel it was, but Donald Pleasence died as they were just about to wrap up ,the taping of the movie. That's why you don't see his last scene. Because he was already dead. You hear him scream, but you never see what happens to him.

That would be Halloween--The Curse of Michael Myers, in 1995.

Pleasance also played the Bond character, Ernst Stavro Blofeld in the 1967 James Bond movie You Only Live Twice and that was the character Mike Myers based Dr. Evel on in his Austin Powers movies.
