Has anybody seen the remake of the movie Halloween???  :hal3:  It's directed by Rob Zombie. I haven't seen it yet. My original thought was that it was supposed to come out in Oct. 2008. To my total surprise, I saw a trailer for it on TV last week. It'll have to be good if Rob Zombie is producing it. Has anybody seen it yet???

I don't do horror flicks.
They're my favorites. They're the only movies that can keep my attention. If it's slow moving, I get up, and do something else. I have serious attention issues LOL!!!!

my favorites too, I made my daughter use the DVR to record "Stir of Echoes 2: Homecoming" saturday night.  It had a little more gore than I care for, but it held my attention.  Not as psychologically thrilling as Stir of Echoes though.

I've seen the trailer for Halloween, looks like it's going to have a lot more special effects than the original.
Looks like I've come full circle.

Everything Rob Zombie does is over the top. Have you seen "House of a Thousand Corpses" and "The Devils Rejects"?? I've got both on dvd. I must confess there are a few parts that make me uncomfortable tho.In "Corpses" the scene where he's going to shoot the cop, and the camera pans back, and there's that prolonged pause before he shoots him, for some reason that really bothers me. I had a friend that was shot in the head, and killed when we were 13 and I wonder if that's why. I didn't witness it or anything, but that could be why. In "Rejects" the part where Otis takes his time killing those 2 guys ,out at the junkyard or whatever it is bothers me too. Maybe, I'm getting too old for those types of movies LOL!!!!!

They had a special on the IFC channel about it earlier this year.

Zombie has a great take on it with AWESOME sfx!!

I'm a horror movie junkie.  It opens here next month I think--but you can't enjoy it on the big screen with all of those kids in the theatre
If you don't have anything nice to say then come over here and sit by me!

I never go to the theater to see movies. I usually wait for it to come out on pay per view. But I want to go see this one. I'm a big horror movie fan and I like Rob Zombie. He really knows how to think outside of the box. I've seen the trailer for it a couple times, and apparently Sherry is in this one too. She does a great job playing a deranged nutmeat. I wonder if she's scary in real life. Her babylike voice is creepier than hell LOL!! I bet he'll put an interesting spin on the original.

Yeah, I guess I can see it on PPV but you just can't beat the big screen for blood and gore

You've got a point there.  Everything is better on the big screen. And don't forget the collossal sized popcorn and soda. You gotta have that. If you don't have that, there's no sense in going LOL!!! Ooooops... There I go again, getting sidetracked by thoughts of food .

Yeah but the only problem is that you have to get a Home Equity loan to be able to afford the popcorn and candy and soda at the theatre.  They even check your bags at ours to see if you're a "smuggler"

:spooked: They do?? OMG what an invasion of privacy. I'd say "you'll look in my bag, over my dead body." Of course I would be ejected from the theatre and possibly ban for life. For 2 tickets and popcorn and soda it costs right around $30. I can't see paying that much,so we very seldom go. Maybe once or twice a year. Every time we go t the show,it doesn't matter how many empty seats there are, somebody always sits next to me. Even if it is just hubby and I sitting there and there's nobody else in the theatre, somebody sits by me. How crazy is that? LOL!! So, we don't go very often.

I didn't even know they were remaking it until I saw it in the newspaper and heard a radio DJ talking about it.

It opened Aug. 31st. I just read on CNN ,that it took the top spot, at the box office, this weekend. It grossed over $30 million .  :o  I love Rob Zombie. I own dvds of both of his movies. I have his cds,and music videos. He really thinks outside of the box.

It is done really well, it really makes you understand how Micheal Myers got to the point of becoming a mindless killing machine. He was a disturbed little boy who was put in an isolation cell for 15 years which drove him crazy. He would have spent the rest of his days in peace making masks if he wasn't provoked by rednecks.
In his twisted world he saw parents as evil and teen agers as evil for letting him down over and over again. He went out to look after his baby sister who had no recollection of who he was, the ending is sad really.
In a pretty good place now.
