Out of curiosity...what are some ways that you find comfort? Give comfort to others? What does COMFORT mean to you?

I find comfort in what is familiar.  Safe.  Tried and true.

I guess I try to give comfort the same way.  Depends on who the person is.  Some people, a card will do and others want a casserole or a pack of smokes.  LOL

A phone call or text message works well.  Just left a text with a buddy who is going through a rough patch and she was MOST appreciative.

That gives us both comfort, dont ya think?

Absolutely, tallulah! I personally take more pleasure or gain comfort by giving rather than receiving...good point!! And in the instance you mention, you both received reinforcement.

For me, I think it's the sense of touch. When I have the blues there's nothing that makes me feel better more than a hug from a friend or the kids. Depending on what I think someone will feel comfortable with, that's how I respond to someone that looks down as well, a touch, or quick squeeze or full bear hug. I don't grab sad strangers on the street  and hug them, but I have touched arms and asked if everything is okay and offered assistance if I can. Second place was already mentioned, e-mail, text, phone....sometimes it's the only way to "touch" someone not close by.

Maybe we're talking about something different, but when I feel "out of sorts", I like to take my daughter to the park and just watch the kids play. That tends to lift my spirits as well. I think it's the energy and their innocent view point on life where the next most important thing is which "thing" they're going to jump on next. The water, ocean, lake, river, soothes my soul too.

Hibiscus - My favorite flower (if I had to pick one. I like them all, I think ;D)

They are beautiful...and smell pretty nice, too.

For me, it's a tie between hibiscus & lillies. Or are they in the same flora family?

I'm a sucker for peonies and hydrangeas--I likes my blooms BIG
