Today is July 14th, the little kitten, and it's Mama seem to be doing really good. She is taking very good care of it. I'm a little concerned about the fact, that the kittens eyes haven't opened yet. It takes a week to ten days for the eyes to open. All the kittens I've ever had took not even a week. They're not peeping open at all. The lids are shut tight. I'm probably worried for nothing. I do that alot when it comes to my animals. As soon as they open, I'll post an update, and let everyone know what color they are. Maybe we could all think of a name for it, and have a vote.  I'm not sure of the sex yet. The Mommy is really protective of it. Every time I hold it she goes nuts. She whines and rubs on my legs. When I put it back in the box, she cleans it obsessively LOL!! You know us humans are pretty filthy.

Thanks for the awesome update, Dexter!!! I'm not sure about a name for the little kitty, but I really think we should call you Dr. Dolittle...the animal world is very lucky to have you. :smitten:

Thanks Sunny  I haven't had a chance to look at it this morning. I should go look right now, because the Mommy is outside taking a break. The kitten is sleeping, I checked. I figure if I wake it up, it will want the Mommy. I'll have to check when it wakes up. I'll give an update as soon as I can.

The kitten's eyes finally opened today.  They're kind of a smokey gray color. It really is a relief. The kitten is growing fast. He's the only kitten, so Mommy is all his. He gets all the milk, and all of the attention. He's on   :cld9:

I'm happy to hear that everything is turning out for both cats. Names - hummmm every name I think of has to do with being a survivor or lucky. If it's a boy cat, you could name it "Rocky" ... makes me think of "Eye of the Tiger". If didn't watch the movie, it's old and kinda corny now, but at the time it meant that Rocky was a fighter or a survivor. Kinda fits with the eyes swelled shut too.

The kitten is now 23 days old. It is  learning how to climb out of the box, much to the dismay of the Mommy. The kitten is a girl. She's longhaired and mostly black with orangish highlights in her fur. Her eyes are still a cobalt grey. Mommy is still taking very good care of her. I've only held the kitten briefly, because the Mommy still doesn't want anybody touching her baby. Now we need to think of some names for her.

Those are great names Kimmi.   I started a poll, it's the exact same headline as this but it's a poll.

The kitten climbed out of the box, for the first time this morning. It loves to be held,  and it follows me around. The Mommy is still unhappy when we hold it. She's very protective of it. She "talks" to it alot. I don't know what she's saying to it, but when it gets out of the box, I'm almost sure she's cussing at it LOL.
