If anybody can handle it, you're the one. This new stuff must be doing a number on you. What's different with this kind, that makes you feel worse? After this round is done, do you have to have radiation therapy as well? I sure hope not.  One good thing is you can sit around, and watch your "Dexter" dvds.

This chemo medicine--Taxol I think if I spelled it right, is some heavy-duty chemo meds.  It's given towards the end of therapy cuz it really kicks the ass outta any cancer cells that may be lingering in the body.  One of the side effects is bone and joint pain which is killing me right now

Yeah, I have to have radiation--about 6 weeks worth

All should be done after Xmas, though so I'm looking forward to a fresh and happy 2008!

Is that joint pain anything like arthritis pain, or is it worse? Probably worse. Tell your doctor you need some Vicadon. And don't forget to share some with Dexie dahling.   :rasta: I've heard different stories on radiation treatments. Mostly, I've heard it's not super painful, but it feels like a severe sun burn. I think they can give you an ointment to help it.  I'm glad you're looking toward the new year, instead of dwelling on the rest of this one. In a few short days it will be Halloween.  :hal3: Do you do anything special to celebrate? I usually sit out here in the country ,and eat pizza, and watch scary movies, let my imagination get carried away, and scare the sh*t out of myself LOL!!!  :spooked:

You know how it feels when you get the flu?  Really achy?  Well multiply that feeling times five!  It SUX!

Does Vicodin have hydrocodone in it?  If so, I can't take it.  I'm allergic.  When all my friends found out that I had a script with about 5 refills of Loratabs I thought they were gonna beat my door down!  Never knew I had so many druggie palz--LOL

For Halloween I usually go to a party or hang out at the house and watch scary movies.  I live so far out in the boonies that I get no trick or treaters--bummer-- :-\

Well, got chemo again tommorow--I'll feel great til about Thursday--at least it won't hit me on Halloween!

Man, that must be pretty painful. Vicadon and Lortab are the same thing I think. Hydrocodone is a generic version of Vicadon I think. Are you allergic to codeine? I think all of them have it in them. Tell them you want a Duragesic patch, it has morphine in it I think. GOOD TIMES!!!  :rasta:

We never have Trick or Treaters out here either. It saves a bundle on candy LOL!!! More candy for Dexie ya know.  I hope your chemo session goes good for you. It is a plus that the ill effects wont start until Thursday.  :hal3: :witch: :hal2: :dracula:

Well, I talked to Alex and he gave me ....you're gonna love this ... OXYCONTIN!     Yeah, he wrote a script for Percocet - 5 mgs - and Percocet is half Oxycontin and half acetaminophen!  LOL

It's gonna do the trick since I only take it when the pain starts and the pain has greatly diminished today.  So I suspect I'm gonna need the stuff at least by Thursday.  But he said to give it a try and if it doesn't do the trick he's gonna switch my chemo meds for next Monday which means I'll have to endure chemo for an extra session but I'd rather do that than walk like Fred Sanford for three days!

I'm not allergic to codeine.  I don't think the insurance company would pay for a patch but I'll ask.  I sure am sick of taking pills all the time

This sounds crazy but, I've taken Oxycontin, and it did absolutely nothing for me.  :spooked: Same thing with the morphine patch. Nope, Vicadon was my big kicker LOL!!!! I was to the point, that before I went to work in the mornings, I'd take 4 of the high stength ones, and slam them with a 24 oz Dew. Boy you talk about a kick!!! I could've whipped the world LMAO!!!
