Had my first round yesterday and it went pretty well.  I was seated next to a lady with lung cancer who was just as nutty as I so we chatted through the whole process and before I knew it it was over. 
Felt a tad nauseous this morning but am better now.  Have to back to get a shot to increase the white cell counts in my bone marrow which the chemo really eats up.

I go to my first support group tonight and hubby will accompany me -- I just hope that it's not filled with a lot of weepers.  I don't own any water-proof mascara!

Damn--two weeks after my first chemo treatment and the hair is coming out in handfulls   :-\

I did get one wig in and two more are on the way but I thought I may have more time--my hair is below my shoulders now and I love to twist it up in the summer and just go. 

Guess it's time to visit my hairdresser for the wacking process to begin--SIGH!

Lab work is tomorrow and the second round of chemo is the 30th! Woo Hoo!

Keep up the positive spirit...and take some solace in knowing that it WILL return when the time is right.

The 3 women I've known personally go through this process all opted to pass on the falling out stage & had their heads shaved...

We will keep you in our thoughts on the 30th! :yes:

Well, tomorrow is the big day and I still have enough hair left to clip in a few extensions and then don a hat or scarve!  HOORAY! :biggrin:

But who's kidding who--the shaving a'la Britney will commence soon.  It has to cuz my scalp is beginning to itch!

Tonight hubby and a friend are taking me out for fancy food since I will have no appetite next week  :-\
so that should be a thrill--now, which wig, hat, scarve, should I wear?  Oh, I need a personal assistant--that's all there is to it!  ROFLMAO!

Well, got through the second round of chemo. This morning I felt like I had just downed about 3 bottles of Mezcal and ate every worm   :rolleyes:

No sleep last night--can't lay flat for some reason so I got up and laid back in the recliner but still couldn't get over the nausea to sleep.  I'm a little better today--ate some soup and I'm gonna take one of my new anti-nausea drugs and try to get a nap in before hubby gets home....

For the most part, it's not that bad but I'm expecting it not to be too pleasant in the future.
There was a commercial for Quizno's sandwiches showing a fabulous roast beef French dip style thing that normally would make me salivate--I ran straight to the toilet!  LOL

Doc says I'm doing good, though.  Write more when I get some sleep...

AHHHH..........much better today my dahlings!

Looks like with each chemo treatment, I'm gonna be down for an extra day--but today has been glorious--except that I am now officially in menopause.

Ain't it a bitch--lose a bewb and now here comes the pause.........never thought I'd miss the thought of having tampons on hand, but alas, you do think about it--(sorry guys--just skip this part-- :wink:)
It's like my womanhood is slowly being lifted from me   :eek:

Anyway--feel really good today...am job hunting--gotta figure out a way to pay for all this stuff--even with insurance, there's co-pays for doctor visits and scripts plus gas to get to town.  I gotta get my self some employment..........
maybe there's a job out there for a phone sex operator with one bewb--there's gotta be some perverts who are into that, right?    :razz:

I think your sense of humor will get you through all of this.  :yes: You are soo funny and up beat.  :smile: I knew a lady that had breast cancer, she has a wonderful sense of humor just like you. When her hair fell out she bought a wig,and whenever somebody asked how she was doing, she'd rip off her wig and say "I'm bald".  :rotfl:  She said the horrified and shocked look on peoples faces was priceless. She didn't wear that wig for long. She got tired of styling it, and ditched it. She came through everything real good. I think her sense of humor, and positive attitude played a big part in that.  :yes: So, I know you are going to do great.  :yes:  :flwr:

Today at work there was a guy who was just bemoaning his life, how hard he has to work, how hot it is outside, his dog died, blah, blah.  I told him if he didn't shut up I was gonna throw my wig and fake bewb at him.  He shut up! 

So your friend and I definitely got the same attitude -- GET OVER IT!
