The Alaska Zoo has a new addition, a 3-month-old lynx named Tony who was delivered by the Alaska Department of Fish and Game about a month ago after being found abandoned in the Palmer area. Lynx, the only cat native to Alaska, have long legs and large furry feet that act as snowshoes. They have long tufts on each ear for camouflage. Tony will be full grown within a year and weigh between 18 and 30 pounds.

I'm glad they handled it that way. I wonder where his mom is. Are they supposed to be separated from their parents at that age?

Thank God they didn't kill it. Sometimes people get trigger happy when it comes to wild animals.

Those are great Alpaca pictures. Last weekend either Sat. or Sun. was National Alpaca Day. We live about a half an hour from an Alpaca farm. We didn't make it to Alpaca Days, but I'm quite sure it would have been AWESOME.  They seem to be very sweet and gentle animals.
