I am currently unemployed.

Well, that's not entirely true. I stay home with my kids and help my husband with the business. I'm looking for a job, though, outside the home.

I will be heading into my 10th year teaching public school - 4th grade.  I also work for Lifetime Fitness in their child care center.  I get to hold babies there, so it is fun!

I was a housewife for the first 8 yrs of my marrige. I think of the tasks you do as a job. Taking care of kids and a house is just as much of a job,and maybe more so, than working outside of the home.

You must be a Saint.  Working with children is a special job, that not everybody could do. It takes allot of patience I'm sure. You must love children. It sounds like a very rewarding job.  You get to shape little minds. How cool is that???

Some days I think I should have been a teacher. Maybe school would've taught me better ways to keep my kids in line.

I think you probably learn as you go. Every situation is different. There is no handbook to raising children, too bad there isn't, because it would help allot.

Dexter I'm so sorry to hear that.  It is amazing how children can let out emotions in ways where the average on looker thinks they are just being bad.

I do have a child that I'm very concerned with.  He will be my Columbine kid.  I'm sure I will see him in the paper for something in the next 5 years.  I have talked to his mom until blue in the face about therapy.  They can't afford it right now.  I told her that she needs to not spend money on anything else until he gets therapy.  He scares me.

I soo hope he gets help, because he needs to be stopped. You got to be real careful around him, he could bring a weapon to school. Has the principal spoken to his parents? I really do understand the money situation, maybe that could get reduced cost counseling. Some places go by your income. This sounds really bad and I don't mean to offend, but you might have to consider turning them in to CPS,it may be the only way, to get him the help he desperately needs. If it prevents another Columbine thats good. You have a keen eye for this and by you taking action you may prevent allot of bad stuff in his future. Most of all, be careful around this kid.

That is a very good idea but I won't do it ONLY because it too mom a long time to get full custody.  Dad is the one that started the abuse and it was very difficult to get the courts to see that.  Mom has been talked to by several people in school.  It is very sad.  I just don't think she wants to admit that he is that bad off.  It makes me sad for him.  I had his younger brother this year.  He is much better but had a hidden temper.  I didn't see it because he controlls it way better than older brother.  It is scary to think that he might be the one to hurt someone.

I just hope he doesn't hurt one of his classmates or you. He may be a bomb waiting to go off. If I was you,I'd watch him like a hawk. You hear it on the news all the time, about small children sneaking weapons into school. A couple months ago,a 8 year old boy in Connecticut, was caught with a pairing knife, in his book bag. He was expelled. The youth today have trouble realizing the difference between real life and fantasy land. I blame allot of that on video games and rap music. Kids are like sponges, everything they see and hear, soaks in.
